Today we’d like to introduce you to Nazeera Dawood.
Nazeera, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I am a social entrepreneur. Nazeera LLC deals with the social impact change and in order to have the funds for this efforts, the sustainable model was to open up Vendorship inc. Vendorship Inc is the business model that pays for the sustainability of Nazeera LLC.
Launched Nazeera LLC in 2017:
Seeing the inequity and empathizing with the plight of other has always compelled me to take concrete action. I have always paved the way to the Normative change – questioning status quos and shifting fundamental philosophical process. I continue to question the en-grained norm and the validity. Why is this the norm in the three major behaviors in medicine, education, and law? Homage to those who came before me has philosophically influenced my thinking and has shed light on dark areas and compelled me to create core fundamental concrete models of success of ‘What could be’. The philosophy of ‘Why Not’. I envision a new reality and the necessary steps to make that reality happen. Empathetic with plight of others to take concrete action. Equity as it relates to health care and enhancing quality of care for marginalized society.
In order to work on the concept of “Why Not “, Nazeera LLC was initiated. The current key project is the monthly, Chai & Just Chat. Our monthly community chai and just chat tends to advance the field of humanitarian efforts through interactions among professionals, community advocates & experts and shared resources while focusing on advocacy, communication, education, and action-oriented dialogues. Chai & Just Chat is designed to encourage discussion on health, financial, communications and varied topics for the life and health of a person/family. Planning for the unexpected is difficult but ensures security for our communities. Subject matter experts discuss and answer questions on the specifics themes for the event. The power of public dialogue between subject matter experts and consumers will offer thoughts and wisdom on deep understanding of topics that is otherwise sometimes not discussed.
Launched Vendorship Inc in 2018:

Our services are not limited to securing IT government projects, assist in becoming a government approved eligible trainer provider, securing staff augmentation government projects, identifying government bid opportunities, teaming or partnerships with potential applicants, proposal techniques & assisting with application process.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Becoming an entrepreneur is always a road of thorns and roses. I believe in the long-term vision and the goals, so even at the hardest of times, I did not give up. I have learned so much about myself that I did not know earlier.
Entrepreneurs need to be surrounded by people who believe in them. The joy when the first client signed up and the joy when the first chai and just chat was launched is not measurable. I started feeling the freedom truly. The freedom of being one’s own boss, the extra available time that was previously spent on commuting to work and the very fact that I am able to pick my kids from the school bus stop were a few of the top perks I received being an entrepreneur.
At times of uncertainties, the strength comes from within to keep going. I am glad I have not given up and the team has been supportive in terms of getting to the outcomes.
One year ago, I would have never believed that I would leave my career employment to become an entrepreneur. Once I took the risk of resigning from my job to becoming an entrepreneur, there is no looking back. The road ahead is I do see bumps but now seem much smaller and I have the confidence and the courage to cross those obstacles.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Vendorship Inc & Nazeera LLC story. Tell us more about the business.
I will discuss Nazeera LLC as a social entrepreneur and the Vendorship Inc as the traditional entrepreneur.

I am the President for Vendorship Inc. I bring the experience and the knowledge to make this a successful business. What sets us apart is the tailored client-oriented services that we provide in expanding their businesses to the public sector.
What makes me proud is the consistency of holding the monthly meetings and we recently celebrated our one year anniversary of the launch of the company. What makes me proud is to see other companies grow and expand to fields that they have otherwise would not have considered.
My passion to serve the broader good has taken me on a journey from a practicing physician in India to completing my Masters of Public Health at UNC to an academic research scientist to a government health official to a political administrator to running for political office and to recently becoming an entrepreneur. I have grown to who I am and am where I am because of all the good, bad and the ugly experiences that life has offered me. If I won, l was able to lead, If I did not win, I become a guide for others to succeed. Either way there was a positive stance to the decisions made.
Having always walked and listened to the people in several communities, I have been able to understand the needs and concerns of the people. I continue to reach out to the many communities. By crossing the invisible line, my actions align with the needs of our residents and business community. This listening, sharing and connecting reflects my grassroots approach to life that was taught by my father. I look at solutions and remedies from the perspective of the individual resident and small business owner that are often forgotten. I believe in bringing together our entire business community to expand our economic opportunities and share one goal and one vision. I believe in galvanizing the energies and empowering all citizens to collectively improve community health.
