Meet Alexis Webber of Noizemakers Worldwide in Greater Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Webber.

Growing up in the center of all great musical stories – the church in her hometown of Richmond, Virginia –Alexis Nicole may have started her career in the same vein as most but she won’t end up like most. Artists can be made. Legends are born. Singer/songwriter Alexis Nicole is proof of the latter. Her music career and journey are a starting testament to the greatness that is to come.

Among her gifts, Alexis was also a talented athlete. Graduating high school, she was offered scholarships for her basketball skills but choose Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee for music. In 2005, she entered the esteemed university’s Recording Industry Program. One of the largest programs of its kind in the world, it was there that she gained an extensive knowledge of the industry and studied under industry professionals. This would set the foundation for breaking down barriers, and creating her own path on the creative and professional sides of the music business. Upon the receipt of her degree in 2009, Alexis packed her belongings as well as her desires and headed for Atlanta, GA.

In late 2010 and 2011, in the true fashion of a shrewd businesswoman, Alexis took time off to build her brand and to launch her entertainment company, Noizemakers Worldwide. It was a smart move. Vastly becoming a power player, the brilliant singer/songwriter has made an impact on not only new talent but on respected industry insiders such as critically acclaimed singer/songwriter, Truth Hurts. “I’ve never seen someone so young, so motivated, multitalented and just really ready to take the game by storm.” Demanding respect as a female artist, Alexis’s talent is duly noted by music industry veterans. “She’s about to come take over and show how females need to dominate the game way more than we do and I’m just proud to know her,” Truth revealed about her connection to Alexis. “I’m just inspired by her and I thank God I met her because she actually raised my game like twelve notches as long as I’ve been in the game.”

Early 2016, Alexis received her Masters in Entertainment Business from Full Sail University. As Alexis began to further develop her talents and explore her gifts, the young visionary began working on her first scripted drama series in 2015. As the creator and executive producer, of the feature film Highland Park, Alexis sought to create a platform not only for her own benefit but to help educate and create licensing opportunities for other independent creatives. Most recently, Alexis Nicole has begun an international tour with stops in Bangkok, Thailand, Spain, and China, to promote her music and showcase some of the artists under the NoizeMakers umbrella.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road to greatness is never smooth. In fact, a smooth road often means you are either on the wrong path or not challenging yourself enough. I would say that the biggest challenge that I have faced, and still continue to do so, is not conforming to the standards of the “industry”. The music industry is a business model designed for the sole purpose of finding ways to monetize the arts. For most creatives, there is a disconnect between the business and the music. Once you find ways to make the two worlds connect for you, then you will start to make some headway.

The second ongoing challenge is understanding that you don’t have to race the clock. As people, we look at everything in the format of a timeline, and we try our hardest to make our wildest dreams come true within the timeframe that we believe is proper; when in fact, the timelines that we give ourselves are not always in line with the goals that we have set. Allow things to work themselves out and roll with the punches that life throws.

I won’t go into detail about each specific obstacle I faced or the lesson I’ve learned from it, but I will say this: I’ve failed a lot, but each failure helped me to make the necessary adjustments to the plan.

All in all, every obstacle is like a checkpoint or a fuel station to test your strength and determination. Quitting is easy, but those who dare to keep going are the ones who see the rewards.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career thus far has to be touring internationally. It’s hard enough trying to fill the seats in your local coffee shop or night club when it’s relating to a new or independent artist. Being able to travel to the opposite side of the world and be received with open arms is an amazing experience. It’s pretty crazy to see thousands of people singing along and dancing to the sound of your voice especially in a country where English is not the native language. Moments like that make all the hard work and sacrifice worth it.
