Meet Richard Charles of Atlanta, Ga

Today we’d like to introduce you to Richard Charles.

Hi Richard, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Before I ever started building my social media platform or diving into content creation, I had already explored multiple business ventures. I helped with my mom’s candle, soap, and fragrance brand, Anika Essence, and I’ve been involved in our family’s home healthcare business for years. I’ve always had a heart for providing services and creating things that make people feel good.

Social media opened up a whole new world for me—it allowed me to express myself creatively and share different sides of who I am with the world. Through that journey, I realized how much I love creating content, connecting with others, and building a brand that reflects my personality and passions.

Now, my next venture is press-on nails—something I’ve been passionate about for a while. It’s the perfect blend of beauty, art, and confidence, and I’m excited to continue growing my brand and sharing that part of me with others.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Growing up, we faced a lot of challenges—there were times when my family was homeless, the power would get cut off, and we were just trying to make ends meet. My father, a military veteran, struggled with PTSD and other mental health issues, which had a deep impact on our family.

But what kept us going was the strength and love within our circle. My mom is one of the strongest women I know, and my sisters have always had my back. I also want to give a special thank you to my uncles and aunts. With the absence of a consistent male figure in my life, my uncles stepped in and helped shape me into the man I needed to become—not just for myself, but for my mom and my sisters. And my aunts always made sure I felt supported, loved, and encouraged along the way.

Because of them, I was able to be my mother’s right hand and the backbone of my family during some of our hardest times. Those struggles molded me, but they never broke me. They gave me purpose, resilience, and a deeper drive to succeed—not just for me, but for everyone who poured into me when I needed it most.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Day-to-day, I help run my family’s home healthcare agency. I handle administrative tasks, manage a handful of clients, and more importantly, I provide support and care on a personal level. Sometimes I’m just an ear for someone who needs to talk, or a source of consistency and comfort in their day. That role keeps me grounded and reminds me why service and compassion are such important parts of who I am.

On the social media side, I specialize in promoting a positive, fashion-forward lifestyle. I love showing people how to elevate their style—whether it’s putting together amazing outfits using pieces they already own or sharing how to express confidence through fashion. I also create travel content, from excursions and hidden gems to tips that help people see the world on their own terms. And with my newest venture, press-on nails, I’m stepping into the beauty space to show how something as small as a set of nails can make someone feel bold, polished, and empowered.

What I’m most proud of is the community I’m building and the way I’ve been able to turn my experiences into inspiration for others. What sets me apart is my ability to blend authenticity with creativity. I don’t just create content—I share my journey in a way that invites people to see themselves in it, to feel seen, and to feel inspired.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
What makes me truly happy is spending time with my family. Over the past few years, my perspective on life has really shifted. I’ve come to realize just how precious time is, especially after the recent loss of my grandfather. That experience opened my eyes and reminded me that holding onto anger or resentment just isn’t worth it—because in the blink of an eye, someone you love could be gone.

I’ve learned to appreciate every moment with the people who love and support me. You don’t need a huge entourage or a crowd of people around you to feel fulfilled. Sometimes, it’s those quiet, meaningful moments with family or close friends that matter the most. That love, that connection—that’s what brings me happiness.

That mindset is also what I carry into my work and my content. Whether I’m sharing a fashion look, a travel moment, or a new set of nails, I always try to stay grounded in realness. I want people to feel like they know me, like they’re part of something genuine. At the end of the day, connection is what matters most—and I try to reflect that in everything I do.
