Meet Richard Dennard of Rheno Music in Decatur

Today we’d like to introduce you to Richard Dennard.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I began composing music at the age of eleven. I was inspired by big artists such as Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Big L, Chris Brown, Omarion and Meek Mill. At age 13, I recorded my first song at a home studio in Hoboken, Georgia. That encouraged me to begin engineering my own music at my mother’s house where I recorded my first three mixtapes: “Forever Famous,” “The Dream is Real” and “Dreaming Making Pt.1.” When I hit 17, I recorded professionally in Tifton, GA and that is where my biggest tape was made, “Rich Mentality.” That tape created a local buzz for a while, but the kindle eventually burned out. I ended up going to The Art Institute of Atlanta to achieve my Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Audio Production. I recorded my hit single “3 Wheel Motion” at Hustle Gang Studios.

That song accumulated over a half a million views on SoundCloud and over 60,000 on YouTube! The buzz was a lot bigger and people love that song to this very day! My primary focus was to become a professional recording artist, but there were other gifts I acquired that influenced me to inspire others. I gave my first two speeches as an inspirational speaker at The Art Institute of Atlanta. I then realized that I had other avenues to reach the masses. I did not stop recording music though! That is my first love regardless! I then interned for Keith Sweat as a boom operator. Meanwhile, I was working two jobs, attending school and working as an intern. After internship, I graduated college and landed a Production Assistant job with Tyler Perry! The job ended drastically, but it was a great experience!

Later, I spoke for The Hartsfield International Airport after I landed a job as a Customer Service Representative. It wasn’t my dream job, but I was thankful for having a guaranteed source of income. However, I wrote a book entitled “Fairly Unequal,” in the time of working at the airport. After I sold 400 Copies, I quit my job and decided to press on with my vision. I knew that I had a decree on my life, and it was only a matter of time. I ended up losing my wife, the townhome and had to move in with a friend. I was literally borderline homeless and could barely afford toothpaste and deodorant. However, I kept the faith and kept God first. I am currently on a destined path of becoming a successful entrepreneur. I am in process of publishing my second book and innovator of my clothing line “Rich Mentality Attire.” Stay persistent and consistent!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Absolutely not! There were a lot of closed doors, no’s, nay Sayers and people who tries to discourage you. I lost loved ones, friends, best friends and family! Becoming successful is not for the weak, and your faith will be tested.

Alright – so let’s talk business.  What else should we know about you and your career so far?
My company was founded when I was in my second year of college in 2016. As a company, we create and distribute quality music, specify in a variety of innovations and motivate the masses. I am a motivation speaker, author and artist! I am known for my music, giving inspiring messages and writing books. I am most proud as a company for being able to be diversified and continually innovating! My content, drive and passion set me apart from others in my industry.

What were you like growing up?
I was humorous, spontaneous, wise and observant growing up.
