Hi Rick, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It All Started Back in 1987…
Rick Sanford started A Blast Entertainment (www.ablastbandsanddjs.com) providing customers with live entertainment at restaurants, clubs and private events.

In 1996 The Blast Band Was Founded
The Blast Band (www.TheBlastBand.com) was co-founded by Rick Sanford And Kris Tonner because customers were requesting live duo’s, trios and more. We have been serving the Southeast United States ever since and have thousands of happy customers. We even off live band karaoke services.

In 2018 We Launched Our First Book Have A Blast Booking And Performing Gigs
We created our first Book that teaches musicians how to be successful at serving their communities booking and performing gigs.

In 2019, We launched Blast Bands’ World’s Longest Album Original Music Catalog (www.WorldsLongestAlbum.com)
We love writing songs and they started to pile up so we launched the World’s Longest Album (worldslongestalbum.com) for all to enjoy and help promote two great children’s charities (Instruments 4 Kids & Children’s Restoration Network). We have added new songs to this collection still to this day including our tribute to America patriotic songs celebrating America’s 250th birthday.

In 2020, We launched an in-depth Guitar Playing Workshop
We created an online google classroom self-paced guitar playing workshop called ‘Have A Blast Playing Guitar’ as an educational guide for all guitar players to enjoy and benefit from.

In 2021, We Started Instruments 4 Kids Charity (www.Instruments4Kids.org) To Say Thank You Atlanta For 25 Great Years!
Instruments 4 Kids Charity gives the gift of music to homeless children living in shelters and group homes.by providing musical instruments and lessons for free.

In 2022, We created more educational materials based around music and business-related subjects.

In 2025, We launched the Have A Blast Store (www.HaveABlastStore.com) to showcase all our fine products and services. In a nutshell, we teach people how to have more fun in life by helping them learn new skills. We currently offer eBooks, online workshops and coaching services.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Thankfully it has been a smooth ride. With all the information available online, we were able to navigate through the challenges of running a business successfully.

We combine Entertainment (bands/DJs) with Education (Learning Center) and a Children’s Charity (Instruments 4 Kids). This “Shop with Purpose” is one of our superpowers… customers aren’t just hiring a band or learning new skills; they can also support a mission that gives back to homeless children.

2. The 40-Year “Knowledge Vault” (ABlastBandsAndDJs.com)
While other event companies might have flashy websites, we have 40 years of actual wisdom. We’re not just playing music; we are “Amplifying] Good Times” with our formula that works (Music + Love = Magic). Plus, we offer Live Band Karaoke turning a standard party into an interactive rockstar experience.

3. Community Impact & Support (Instruments4Kids.org)
Instruments 4 Kids Charity loves making a direct impact on the community. All Contributions are 100% tax-deductible and provide both instruments and lessons for free to kids living in homeless shelters. We love raising awareness and giving the gift of music to these deserving children.

Risk-taking is an amazing thing because you can never grow without it. It’s part of the excitement!

Risk-taking is the only way to get from “just another business” to “something extraordinary”.
