Meet Rita Patel of Stylish Escapades

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rita Patel.

Hi Rita, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory. 

As a young girl I’ve always had a passion for travel. I envisioned my future as an air hostess just so I could travel all the time. That was short-lived when I got married at an early age and moved to the Caribbean for 5 years and then moved back to the United States. As the years went by, after having children, whom are all now grown up and stable businesses, I decided to travel with my gal pals for a bit. I curated them independently from the beginning to end with beautiful hotels, amazing destinations, and selecting the perfect private tour guides that my friends thought I should pursue it as a career. Unfortunately, my other businesses still are my priorities, so I decided to pursue it as a side venture. And here I am today, 5 years in and curating some of the most beautiful itineraries for my clients. Nothing gives me more joy than sharing my itineraries and destinations with my clients and giving them the opportunity to experience the ultimate perfect luxury getaway on a reasonable budget.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
So far, so good. I haven’t had any major hiccups or struggles. My over 50 traveled countries experience has led me to perfect clients’ itineraries with my experience and guidance. I tend to do the travel business part-time, so it doesn’t interfere with my other businesses. There are periods that are quiet but then pick up during Spring Break, Summer, and Winter bookings. Hopefully, when I retire, I will pick it up full-time. 

We’ve been impressed with Stylish Escapades, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Stylish Escapades is all about luxury, curated, personalized independent tour travel experiences. I cut the middleman to make it affordable for my clients who want that luxury travel experience but not go overboard on budget. I’ve traveled to over 50 countries all over the world and curated all my personal travels myself. I know exactly how to maneuver within a country using internal transportation systems. I set myself from the rests by being with my clients from beginning to end of their trip. I also provide a great travel app that has all their flight details, hotel confirmations, internal transportation tickets and all their excursion details, and emergency contact information. Clients love the app and it’s all available offline, so they have access 24/7. The app also updates automatically whenever I enter any new information etc., so my clients are updated on changes of times of anything that is on the app. I’m proud of Stylish Escapades, and pretty much all my clients are referrals or recommended by others based on my experiences and my clients. I love the recommendations and helping others to experience the world independently without pesky group tours, time schedules and experiencing some of the most beautiful hotels in the world. I like my clients to stay in hotels that reflect the destination they are traveling to, it just gives that extra personal touch.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Live for today, as tomorrow is not promised. I love enjoying the beauty and all the different cultures in this world. I have mad respect for humanity. Not everyone is equal. You learn so much from traveling. It’s a whole world of knowledge on history, religion, and cultures. It truly humbles one. You have a more deeper understanding when you see conflicts going on in different parts of the world and appreciate the level of life we live in where we are at.
