Meet Sabri Haidar of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabri Haidar.

Hi Sabri, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey started with nothing more than creativity running through a kid’s mind. From picking up a laptop to eventually picking up a camera, I could’ve never imagined where it would take me. Now, looking back on six years of hard work, it’s incredible to see how far that creativity has taken me.

What started as simply having a passion for creating eventually turned into something much bigger than I could’ve imagined. I started from scratch, learning as I went, taking chances, building relationships, and making the most of every opportunity that came my way. Over time, I was able to turn that passion into my own creative production company, Shmixes, and have since been blessed to work with brands and organizations such as Under Armour, Meta, Ray-Ban, Adidas, EA Sports, Champs Sports, Bleacher Report, Lids, Roc Nation, Powerade, the University of Louisville, and many more.

Through this journey, I’ve had the opportunity to travel across the country and around the world, meet incredible people, and find myself in rooms I once could’ve only dreamed of being in. From working alongside some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment to building relationships with people I once only saw on TV or social media, it’s been surreal to experience some of these moments firsthand. One of the biggest milestones in my career has been joining Athletes First, one of the top sports agencies in the world, where I currently serve as a Specialist in Video Design, creating visual assets for some of the biggest names in professional sports.

To think that I started all of this from scratch and see how far I’ve come is truly amazing, but I know I’m still far from where I want to be. While the journey may look easy from the outside, there have been plenty of challenges, sacrifices, long nights, and moments of uncertainty behind the scenes that have shaped me into who I am today.

As I continue this journey, I’m beyond grateful for the blessings God has given me. I’m thankful for every person who has poured into me, every relationship I’ve built, every opportunity I’ve received, and even the challenges that have helped me grow. I don’t take any of it for granted, and I truly believe this is only the beginning.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There have been plenty of all-nighters I’ve pulled, moments of “fun” I’ve missed out on, sacrifices I’ve had to make, relationships l’ve lost, and huge mistakes I’ve made along the way. A lot of people see the opportunities, the travel, and the accomplishments, but they don’t always see what it takes behind the scenes to get there. I’ve learned that the road to success is never meant to be easy. It’s not about avoiding the tough battles, but about who you become after making it through them. Every setback has taught me something, and every challenge has helped shape the person I am today. One thing I always remind myself is that every L is a lesson, and as long as I’m learning, I’m growing.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work in the world of video production, specializing in video editing and cinematography. While I’m most known for my presence in the sports world, my work stretches far beyond that. I’ve had the pleasure of capturing moments and creating alongside some incredible people, brands, and organizations. Above all, I’m most proud of my drive and creativity.

Some of my favorite projects to date include “Edgewater vs. The World” with EA Sports in England and Orlando, the Lil Wayne and Hot Boys reunion in New Orleans, and Adidas EURO Camp in Italy. I’ve also really enjoyed leaning more into the storytelling and documentary side of production. Directing “The Hype Squad Documentary” for the Atlanta Dream this year was an incredible experience, along with leading the creative direction and production for A.V. Terrell’s “Drafted” mini-documentary alongside GoatFarm Media. Both were projects this year I had a lot of fun bringing to life.

I’ve also been fortunate enough to cover some of the biggest sports events across the NFL, NBA, college football, WNBA, MLB, MLS, NCAA, and more. I’ve genuinely been blessed to work on so many amazing projects and experiences that I feel like I’m leaving a whole list of incredible moments out.

What I believe separates me from others is my drive, creativity, kindness, and the energy I bring into every room. I take pride not only in the quality of my work but also in how I treat people and the relationships I build along the way. At the end of the day, I want people to remember me just as much for the person I am as they do for the work I create.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I’ve always believed everything happens for a reason and that God’s timing is greater than anything we could plan ourselves. I’ve been blessed with opportunities I could’ve never imagined, and sometimes you really do have to luck up and be in the right place at the right time. But I’ve also learned how important your network is. The relationships you build, how you treat people, and the impression you leave can open doors you never knew existed. I’ve had my fair share of setbacks, but every experience has taught me something. At the end of the day, I give all praise to God. What some may call luck, I see as a blessing.
