Hi Stanasha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Stanasha T Goodwin, and I’m the owner and founder of Zen Massage Atlanta, a mobile massage company serving Atlanta and its surrounding areas.

Before I ever started this business, I spent over 13 years working in the medical field as a medical assistant. That experience shaped the way I see health, healing, and the importance of truly listening to people. I saw every day how stress, pain, and busy schedules can wear down the body and spirit.I’ve always had a heart for healing. I worked in the medical field as a medical assistant for over 13 years , supporting patients and providers and gaining a deep understanding of how stress, pain, and everyday life affect the body.

In 2010 , I attended and graduated from ASHA – the Academy of Somatic Healing Arts . At the time, I didn’t know exactly when or how I would use those massage and bodywork skills in my life, but I trusted that the right time would come.

When I had my second child, everything shifted. I knew I needed a way to be more present for my children while still providing the income we needed. I spent a lot of time praying and asking God what my next step should be. One night, God gave me the vision for Zen Massage Atlanta in a dream—clear, peaceful, and full of purpose. I woke up knowing exactly what I was meant to do.

What began as a simple step of faith has now grown into a business that has been serving clients for over five years. I started completely mobile, traveling all over Atlanta and the surrounding areas, bringing therapeutic massage directly into people’s homes and on-site locations. My goal has always been to create a calm, healing experience wherever you are—whether you’re a busy parent, a professional, an athlete, or someone simply in need of relief and relaxation.

Today, Zen Massage Atlanta is still proudly mobile, offering in home therapeutic massage, spa parties, and corporate chair massages for events and I’m also looking to open my first location fall of 2026 for those who prefer an in-office visit. Whether I’m coming to you or welcoming you into the new office space, my focus is the same:

environment where you can truly exhale.

Every session is personal to me. This isn’t just a business—it’s a calling that came from prayer, faith, and a desire to serve. I’m honored to care for the Atlanta community one massage at a time.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey hasn’t been easy.

I had to learn to identify my slow seasons and not let them shake me. During those times, I’ve had to remember to trust God in all things—good and bad . There were moments of doubt, fear, and uncertainty, but each time, God reminded me that He was the one who gave me this vision in the first place.

I also built my website with no prior knowledge or guidance . No fancy marketing team, no tech background—just me, YouTube, trial and error, and a lot of prayer. It was frustrating and overwhelming at times, but it taught me perseverance and showed me that I could do hard things with God’s help.

This brand was built from the ground up—through slow seasons, doubts, and a lot of faith. I’m especially proud that I stayed the course when it would’ve been easy to quit. I’ve done things like build my own website , learned as I went, and trusted God to send the right clients at the right time. Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is winning 3rd place in the Georgia Social Science Fair for my project on Langston Hughes. I spent weeks reading his poems, learning about his life, and trying to explain why his words mattered so much to our culture. I can still picture myself standing next to my display board, nervous but excited, and then hearing my name called for 3rd place.

That moment was bigger than just a ribbon for me—it made me feel seen and confident. It showed me that my voice, my curiosity, and the stories I care about are worth sharing, and that feeling has stayed with me ever since.
