Meet Stevie Streck of Stevie Streck Designs in Marrietta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stevie Streck.

Stevie, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As a single mother raising two young children, it was always difficult to make ends meet so between jobs I would spend my time painting to make extra money. As joint problems began hindering my oil painting I found water color on card stock.

I came from modest beginnings as a part time job run out of the basement of my home then, as demand grew for her unique hand painted invitations, the part-time became full-time as the basement became the garage; which became a warehouse, and now an operation that serves all of the US, and many countries throughout the world.

Stevie Streck Designs is one of the few companies in the industry today who’s designs are adapted from her original artwork. Stevie Streck Designs is consistently recognized by its peers as one of the finest stationary designers in the market today evidenced by the fact that Stevie Streck has been the winner and nominee of many Louie Awards, the industry’s equivalent of the Academy Awards.

Stevie Streck is known by her clients and business relationships as a relentless hard worker, with a true love for people, and a love to create.

Today Stevie Streck designs invitations, greeting cards, calendars and other gift items.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was not easy in the beginning but I continued to work and after about 3 years things were great, invitations were HOT. Then 2009 the great recession hit so I re invented the way we sold invites, now I would print the copy for the stores which we still do today.

We also had completion with Evite so I had to look at selling online which we now do and as things have evolved so did we. We now offer a line of calendars that are hand glittered, gift products and die cut greeting cards. We are always trying to create.

We are a gift company our strongest products are our desk calendars, invitations and greeting cards.

I am most proud of our reputation and our relationships with our customers and the people that would for me.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I always loved to paint.
