Meet Tairat Baoku of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tairat Baoku

Tairat, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It all began when I was very young, I used to dream of being in movies and tv. I would always fantasize about myself being on the big screen. There were moments when I would gather all the kids in the neighborhood to act in a play. I would come up with the concept and we will practice in hopes of performing in front of the adults. I remember vividly persuading a few adults to come watch us and they actually showed up to our neighborhood, my parents were not too happy about that.

At the age of 7, we got our first computer and I would write my own screenplays. I didn’t know what I was doing, but I kept writing in hopes of recording the film with my father’s video camera.

As I got older I tried my best to involve myself in as many activities revolving the arts as possible. From drama class, theatre class, film studies and much more. I would beg my parents to take me to auditions, and that’s honestly a different story for a different day.

In 2014, I made the decision to take my career to the next level by acting professionally. I enrolled in an acting class, took headshots and the rest is history!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not been easy, and it’s honestly still a rough journey. Getting people to believe in me and my talent has honestly been my toughest struggle. I’ve lost count on how many emails and messages I’ve sent that have gone unnoticed.

My determination to one day become successful is what honestly motivates me. I truly believe it is only a matter of time, but there are times when I feel like quitting is better than the constant rejection. In those vulnerable moments, I find myself having to regroup for maybe a few weeks or months and start back over again. I did not come this far to just give up!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Im an Actor/ filmmaker/ host. Most people know me for my online show The Lounge ATL that I started back in December 2020. We shot our first episode in January 2021 and have been going ever since. If I’m being honest, being the host of my own show has been one of my greatest achievements.

I’m also known to produce my own content and I’m constantly working on new ideas. As an actor, I take pride in providing myself with many opportunities that allow me to keep sharpening my skills.

What sets me apart from others is that I don’t wait on anyone for any opportunity. I’m constantly brainstorming and working on ways to keep producing my own content.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was always very reserved. I was always known as a quiet person and my teachers would always comment on that. Even though I was quiet, I knew how to turn that side of me off when it came to performing. People were always left surprised and wondering about my sudden transformation.

I’ve always been interested in anything relating to the arts. Whether it was film, music or modeling. My interests were always related to the arts and entertainment.
