Meet Tamara Dolcé of LaDolcéVida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamara Dolcé.

Hi Tamara, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was a young woman from a small town who dreamed of living in a big city with bright lights and big buildings, beautiful people and many opportunities to make a lovely lively life for myself. When I made the decision to move to Atlanta, it was the most selfish, dumb, crazy, beautifully amazing and fulfilling thing I’ve ever done. It was scary, and lonely, and challenging but the move also made me face myself in the mirror and try to get to really know the woman who was staring back at me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of my favorite quotes is “calm seas never made a skilled sailor.” The first few years here were extremely rough and tough. I had no idea what or who I wanted to be… I just knew I wanted to be here. The struggle was definitely there. I experienced the recession of 08, attempts at being robbed a few times, deaths of people I cared deeply about… I had to face many demons from inside myself. Sometimes I had no idea who I was. But I knew I was determined to do something great.

We’ve been impressed with LaDolcéVida LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I feel like my brand and business evolve constantly. First, we started selling accessories and eyelashes, now we have morphed into a reseller business for sustainable fashion, but also with projects that stem from plus size modeling, body positivity and empowerment, spirituality, creative direction for art & photo shoots, event planning, and also social media management. I’ve always been known as a funny, pretty party girl, so I believe that’s a big part of the brand. It’s just about having a good time and looking and feeling good doing it. What sets the brand apart and what I’m most proud of may be the same answer… Me. I feel as though I’m a unique individual with class and style. A God-given ability to love on people and connect with them- sprinkled with brains and beauty. When it comes to the brand, I’m open to all kinds of collaboration.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Never value the length of a relationship over the strength of a relationship. Sometimes you will meet people that can change your mind and life in 3 months versus someone who you’ve known for 20 years.
