Today we’d like to introduce you to Tina Torres-Wilson.
Hi Tina, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Six years ago, my life completely unraveled.
After 20 years in a toxic, narcissistic, and emotionally and physically abusive marriage, I made the hardest decision of my life — I walked away. Within a matter of months, I lost my marriage, became an empty nester when my youngest son left for the U.S. Army, and was laid off from a six-figure corporate job that had once defined me. I moved to a new town where I knew absolutely no one. I was 43, lost, and deeply depressed.
But here’s the thing about hitting rock bottom — it gives you solid ground to rebuild on.
I had a choice: stay broken or become the woman I was always meant to be. And so, piece by piece, prayer by prayer, I rebuilt. I took the marketing skills I had mastered over decades and started helping other women—specifically female entrepreneurs and coaches—write their stories, launch their books, and build beautiful, impactful brands.
I wrote my first book, The Gratitude Journal, as a lifeline for myself during the darkest moments. That journal not only healed me, but it became a #1 bestseller and opened the door to something bigger than I ever imagined.
Today, I’m the CEO and founder of Pink Door Publishing and Pink Door Marketing, where we help women go from idea to income by turning their story into a published book and then turning that book into a brand and business. Through my flagship program, 120 Days to Best Seller, and collaborative projects like Be a Glow Stick Girl, I’ve helped over 100 women become bestselling authors and thought leaders.
My brand is feminine, faith-filled, and fiercely committed to helping women realize that their story matters. That it’s not too late. That even in the messy middle, you can rise, rebuild, and shine brighter than ever.
Because sometimes, you have to break… before you glow.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Has it been a smooth road? Absolutely not. But I wouldn’t trade the bumps for anything.
The hardest part wasn’t just losing everything—it was rebuilding when I had nothing left in the tank. I was emotionally drained, financially unstable, and questioning my worth every step of the way. I had moments where I couldn’t get out of bed, where I questioned if anyone would ever read my story, let alone pay me to help them write theirs.
There were tech struggles, marketing missteps, clients who ghosted, and seasons where I was creating from a place of survival, not strategy. I had to learn how to show up for myself—before I could show up for others.
One of the biggest struggles was shifting from being a “corporate woman” to becoming a CEO of my own life. That meant learning boundaries, charging what I was worth, and staying committed to my vision even when the money wasn’t rolling in (yet).
But those struggles? They taught me grit. They taught me grace. And they gave me a deep compassion for the women I serve—because I’ve walked through the fire they’re trying to escape.
And now? I get to turn my mess into a mission. Every tear, every late night, every “why is this so hard?” moment brought me here—to a place of purpose, passion, and pink-powered possibility.
We’ve been impressed with Pink Door Marketing Agency, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Pink Door Publishing and Pink Door Marketing, we turn stories into brands—and brands into movements.
I created this business with one mission: to help women turn their pain into purpose and their message into money. We specialize in helping female entrepreneurs, coaches, and thought leaders write and publish bestselling books—but that’s just the beginning.
Through my signature program, 120 Days to Best Seller, we walk clients through the entire publishing process—ghostwriting or coaching them through their book, editing, formatting, cover design, Amazon launch, landing pages, and the full marketing campaign. We don’t just publish books—we build brands around them.
Because writing a book isn’t the finish line. It’s the doorway.
What sets us apart? We’re not just a publishing company. We’re a movement. A sisterhood. A soft place to land for women who’ve been silenced, played small, or poured into everyone else for years—until they finally realize their voice deserves the spotlight too.
Our branding is unapologetically feminine—pink, powerful, and purposeful. We’re classy, sassy, and a little bougie, and our clients LOVE that. They feel seen here. They feel safe. And they feel celebrated.
We also host collaboration book projects like Be a Glow Stick Girl, where 20+ women share their stories of resilience and reinvention. It’s part memoir, part movement. And it’s proof that when women come together to shine, the whole room lights up.
I’m most proud of the way we humanize the publishing process. Every client gets treated like a VIP, whether they’re launching a solo book or joining a group collaboration. We don’t do cookie-cutter. We do customized, heartfelt, high-impact storytelling that changes lives—starting with yours.
So if you’re a woman with a story in your soul and a business in your heart… I’m your girl. Let’s open that pink door and start your next chapter.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Absolutely. Here’s my best advice: Start scared. Start messy. Just start.
So many women wait until it’s “perfect,” until they feel ready, until the stars align. But let me tell you something—clarity comes through action, not overthinking. The version of you that’s successful? She’s built through the things you’re afraid to do right now.
When I first started, I wish someone had told me that fear doesn’t go away—it just gets quieter the more you show up. I wish someone had reminded me that consistency beats perfection every time. And most of all, I wish I had known that my story was enough—exactly as it was.
Here’s what I want every woman starting out to know:
You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin.
Your past does not disqualify you—it actually positions you.
Community over competition, every single time. Find your people and lean on them.
And finally, done is better than perfect. Publish the post. Launch the thing. Tell your story.
Your story has power. Your voice has value. And your purpose is not up for debate.
Whether you’re starting a business, writing a book, or simply stepping into a new season—do it scared, do it imperfectly, and do it anyway. Because the future you’re dreaming of? She’s already waiting on the other side of your obedience.
