Meet Tori Sanders of Toralai Films in South ATL

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tori Sanders.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Tori. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I am from New Orleans, Louisiana.  I’ve always had a niche for cameras since a child and have always enjoyed recording and taking photos of others. In the beginning, I used my grandmother’s camcorder to film music videos and skits with my little sister and brother.  I initially went to college for Dental Hygiene and quickly discovered that it wasn’t for me, so I switched over to the next best thing in my opinion, which was Communication and Media Studies. I got my first major filming opportunity with the athletic program at my school and was able to run the broadcasted games for the remainder of my time at Clayton State.

Eventually, my school started a film program!! I immediately switch my major once more, and finally felt comfortable in my decision. We learned tons about cameras and film industry at school which furthered my knowledge in my craft.

I started my production company Toralai Films in 2016 and have been growing ever since. I’ve accumulated a large catalog of photos, videos, and short films over the years. I’ve also been honored to work with various great artists, directors, and photographers.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My journey definitely has had its ups and downs. I believe being in the film industry is one of the best jobs to have, but there are many daily challenges to face.  From simply planning your project out, to the long hours on set and long hours editing. On the business side, it requires a lot of legwork and had to learn to better manage my time and to prioritize projects.  It can also be a challenge being in a male dominant industry.

Toralai Films – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Toralai Films is a production company that provides cinematography, videography, photography, and editing services. We specialize in and are known for music videos and photography. We work with budgets and are able to execute accordingly. I believe my eye is the main thing that sets me apart from others, along with the fact that there are not too many female directors in the industry right now.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
I’ve had 2 videos reach over a million views on world star and YouTube, so it felt great knowing so many people had seen my work. In general, I love when people can appreciate my art.

I have had numerous opportunities for Tori to plan and execute my vision for pictures and videos as well. I wouldn’t entrust my products with anyone but her. Great feature on Tori and Toralai Films. She’s a beast with her craft!!
