Meet Trailblazer Travala Campbell

Today we’d like to introduce you to Travala Campbell.

Travala, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m from a small town called Mcintosh County. Im the older daughter of Frances Campbell- Lisbon and Tyrone Hutcherson. I graduated from Mcintosh County Academy in 2013. I never thought that I would have my own business. People always told me my work ethic was very good but I never saw the potential in myself. I decided to attend college in Statesboro, GA. I met a lot of new people and opened up alot of doors for myself. In 2015, I lost my aunt (Pamela Palmer). She was literally like a mom to me. After losing her, I was literally lost so I had to think of something to get me back on track. I decided to do lash extensions in February or 2018. My family and friends were my biggest supporters. Now, in 2019, my business is bigger than I imagined it would be.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The road itself hasn’t been smooth but it wasn’t the worse. The most important thing is staying focus and keeping your trust in God. No matter how bad things get, never give up. You have to be your biggest supporter. At first, it may seem slow but consistency is the key. Even on your worse days, remember why you started.

Please tell us about Majesty Minks – what should we know?
I’m a certified lash technician. I specialize in Mink lash extensions. I have a passion for doing lashes, it’s the best thing I could’ve invested in. It’s a lot of people around me that offer the same services as me but I never once focused on that. I’m all about empowering other people and helping as much as I can.

So much of the media coverage is focused on the challenges facing women today, but what about the opportunities? Do you feel there are any opportunities that women are particularly well-positioned for?
I feel like women can do anything they put their mind to. A lot of women doubt themselves before trying and it’s the biggest downfall. I was that woman. I never saw myself doing this and now that I look back, I wish I would’ve started long ago.
