Today we’d like to introduce you to Bunmi Jinadu.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Bunmi. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
In my early years, I had the opportunity to work in some of the most coveted fashion houses and sports apparel brands balancing my academic pursuit with an adoration of fashion. Relocating to the states in 1995 shortly before the Atlanta Olympic games, I seized the opportunity in the entertainment mecca to dress some of the most sort after celebrities in the music industry then. Quickly becoming the authority on all things glamorous and modish, my “black book” of who’s who in the entertainment became in “so-called” high demand.
Fast forward to 2005, he began working with the Fugees for their Reunion tour. Continuing to work with Lauryn Hill and was an encouragement for Ms. Hill to go on tour in 2007. Despite the past challenges Lauryn Hill had faced, she rediscovered her passion for music on this Rehabilitation Tour.
Lauryn Hills drive and passion served as an additional source of inspiration for finding my unborn self, I decided to “continue this legacy where I give back to the community. by helping others discover their talents through sports and entertainment thus attempting to alleviate poverty and creating a social impact within these less privileged communities… So with the help of a small team of volunteers, mentors and global corporate citizens we created Interglobe Entertainment Group, United Sounds of Africa LL C, United Soccer Africa LLC and Licensed 2 Heal.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
When you discover your purpose driven life you will never have a smooth road.A pregnant woman goes through 9 months of labor for a reason before the baby is born… It’s part of the process.
The struggles of finding people to believe in you and when you find them there births another struggle of finding your “magnificent 7” or “12 disciples”… It’s like going to the gym. You cant expect to lift the same weights and expect different results…You have to be challenged and be willing to accept these challenges… I have never found a diamond that came out sparkling… so we are all like diamonds that have to go through struggles and the process is part of the struggle.

In sports, one of my proudest moments was when I was made Co-chair of the task force on Tourism for The Development Authority for DeKalb and the Chairman of the Local organizing committee for the Nigeria Olympic teams residential camp in Atlanta’s Dekalb.
The team’s preparation in Atlanta resulted in the team being the only Olympic team to secure a medal for Nigeria. A country with 170 million population. We received two proclamations from The City of Atlanta and the DeKalb County government. Both the City of Atlanta and DeKalb County further resolving 16th of July “The Nigerian Olympic Men’s Soccer Team day”… But most importantly we partnered with the worlds busiest airport Harts field Jackson International, Emory Sports Medicine, Delta Airlines, DeKalb Convention & Visitors Bureau and other local institutions to promote Georgia as a destination.
In recognition to these efforts, we received two proclamations from The City of Atlanta and the DeKalb County government. Both the City of Atlanta and DeKalb County further resolving 16th of July “The Nigerian Olympic Men’s Soccer Team day”, We also received $200,000 dollars of in-kind contribution from Harts field Jackson and $250,000 dollars for a private plane that airlifted the team to Rio when they got stuck in Atlanta.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
It was in England when we won the Catholic School National Champions ship rugby sevens tournament… It was my first “Magnificent 7” moment.
