Meet Vicky “VJ” Jones of City Nails Bar in Dunwoody

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vicky “VJ” Jones.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Vicky. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Started doing nails over twenty years ago and in 2013 my husband Robert helped me open my first salon. The salon did well and we sold it and really wanted to open a new one in Dunwoody which we did and is called City Nails Bar. My belief in exception customer service and attention to detail is very important to us and drives our salon’s success. I also believe in doing the best we possibly can to give not only our customers a great experience but also and very importantly our staff, since when an employee is happy they will do a much better job and feel relaxed.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There is always some bumps in the road when you are literally building anything from the ground up, permits, contractors, suppliers, etc. but my husband took control of the build out project half way through and worked with the city and inspector to get through the build out kinks. My husband has remained with the salon and has volunteered his I.T. background to help us develop a very nice website and facebook presence which helped jump start us by adding visibility for customers to find us, which is a big issue for any new business. The challenge after that was recruiting and building the staff we now have in place and is very stable and crucial for the business success.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about City Nails Bar – what should we know?
We are a full-service nail salon offering everything from fake nails to hair removal services. We also have skilled nail technicians who can do organic or healthy nails for our customers and is the fasting growing part of our business. We pride ourselves in the quality of service and customer experience which includes a modern air exhaust system to keep everyone from breathing harmful salon odors. We are different in how clean and sanitary we are and of course the beautiful nails we provide for our customers. This combined with the healthy salon environment gives customers a relaxing and quality experience each and every time they visit us.

Every single customer we have deserves credit as they are our biggest advocates and all of us at the salon really want all of them to know how much we appreciate them. Nearly all of our business now comes from referrals and that is truly gratifying.
