Meet Zoya Fryer

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Zoya Fryer. Zoya was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Vette Wilson.

Hi Zoya, we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
My passion for writing has always been strong, and my blog, Zeewiththetea, was born out of that passion. Because my heart is so full of words, I like to say it’s not like everyone else’s. I’ve had difficulty communicating verbally since I was a young girl. Growing up I was shy, reluctant to speak up, and I often felt misunderstood as a result of my quiet. So, to get all of my feelings and thoughts out, I’d go into my room and write whatever I was feeling on that particular day in a notebook or on an ordinary sheet of paper. It was therapeutic, and it truly helped me get through some of my rough days. Writing has always been there for me, and I’ve even used it to pray and establish a spiritual connection. In high school, I remember being in German class and not studying as much as I should have for the weekly quiz, so shortly before the test, I hurriedly grabbed a scratch sheet of paper and wrote a letter to God because honey, He knew I needed to pass that test! Overall, writing has always been a haven for me and a way for me to explore the depths of my heart.

After high school, I went to college to study Journalism. During my sophomore year, I ended up taking a break because I was pregnant with my daughter. During that time off, I needed to find a way to convey everything that had been going on in my personal life, so I wrote an urban book series, which allowed me to meet a lot of amazing individuals from all over the world who appreciated my work. As a method to keep my readers entertained while I worked on my next book, I began writing about juicy gossip in the entertainment world. My posts were so witty, fun, engaging, and full of humor that they started going viral one after the other. People were expressing how they’d visit my page first for all the latest tea and gossip, and Zeewiththetea was born as a result of all the exposure!

Please tell us more about your brand, ZeeHive Promotions
Zeewiththetea takes the term “gossip” to a whole new level. It’s not just humorous, but also entertaining. So many people, especially with all that is going on in the world right now, need a good laugh or even just a place to chat about things that have nothing to do with them as a means to escape, and I believe my blog, Zeewiththetea, has provided that space for those who need it. Not only does Zeewithethetea focus on gossip, but it also addresses domestic abuse, police brutality awareness, and all of the key concerns that plague the Black community. What I am most proud of, is the connection I’ve built with people who believe in me. There are people who write me every day letting me how much they love my blog and what I do and it really brings joy to my heart.

Vette Wilson has been a great friend to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Vette and your experience with her?
Vette and I met through a mutual author friend who died last year. Ebonee Abby was her name, and it was via Ebonee that I met Vette. When it comes to promotional services, Vette has always been my top client. She’s incredibly humble, gentle, and understanding. I adore collaborating with her. Vette is someone I appreciate because she works hard and is dependable. It can be difficult to keep focused on your goals in the Urban Literature profession without becoming distracted, but Vette is the definition of consistency. Her books are well-written, and she devotes a great deal of effort to honing her skill. Her spirit shines through in everything she does, and she is highly supportive. What’s not to like about a Black Woman in Charge?

Vette gives me optimism that one day, through Zeewiththetea, I will be able to take my promotional services global.
