Hi Alice, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After 15 years of supporting my husband’s corporate events, I wanted to create something of my own. As a people person who loves celebrations, a mobile beverage trailer was the perfect fit. It is a business where I can provide unforgettable experiences, make guests feel like family and leave with lasting memories. This is not just a business for me……this is an adventure, and I intend on making it fun for everybody!!!! Together, I hope to make new friends and connections wherever I go!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m a person who does my homework, so most of the details of starting my business, were worked out early in the process. As with any business, you do have your bumps in the road, especially when you’re dealing with vintage horse trailers. My husband and I remodeled our trailer ourselves, so it doesn’t hurt to have a good marriage as well. LOL!!! After many long days, bruises, cuts, scrapes and falls off the ladder………….we finally got it done!!! It was definitely worth it!!!!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a nurse by trade, and Pediatrics was the best part of my nursing career. I did home health for premature babies, early in my career and then ended with the Cobb County school system as a school nurse. I loved my job and still miss all the babies that I had the privilege of taking care of.
I’m most proud of my own children and what they have become in life. They make me proud everyday, and I thank God for them daily.
I would like to think that my kindness is what sets me apart from others. I try to give more than I ever ask for, and I always try to find ways to help. I always say….”Be the reason someone smiles. Be the reason someone feels loved and believes in the goodness in people.”
What are your plans for the future?
My future plans are to continue to grow our business, and continue touching the lives of those people who use our services, at Murphy’s Pour House. We have a second trailer that we are planning on starting the remodel on, in the coming months. We do have a big trip planned next year, to Ireland and Scotland!!! It’s a family trip, so we’ll get to share it with our son and daughter-in-law.
