Rising Stars: Meet Doriynn Morris of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Doriynn Morris.

Doriynn, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up in Dothan, Alabama and I was born February 3, 2000. I grew up in a two parent household and they were very supportive and attentive . I honestly was a nerd growing up. I took my education very serious , I played piano and saxophone and I was always keeping my mind going . I used to always write poems and stories as a kid and over time it just became a hobby and an outlet for me . Having a creative imagination got me into comedy and I used to love dressing up and reenacting old movies etc. I had a love for writing and bringing stories to life . I moved to Atlanta , GA in November of 2020 and the journey was definitely rocky . I started out as a video vixen for a lot of the major celebrity videos and then about 2 years later once I realized it was just not the right path for me, I transitioned into content creation such as skits and comedy and also producing and directing films as well. Now I can proudly say that I have an original film that’s very popular on Prime and Tubi called Desire: Submission and it’s the first series I’ve ever created .

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely wasn’t always a smooth road , it was rough and frustrating. So when I first got into the video vixen world I was 20 and I was so excited because I mean, it was new . Seeing celebrities that I used to listen to all the time up close and personal was a surreal feeling …at first . After a while you start to realize “Hey, these are regular people too ; they just have money “ and once I understood that I honestly started seeing things for what they really were . I was never a thick girl , I’ve always been on the slimmer slide . I realized in this music industry majority of the people wanna see thick women with exaggerated bodies and things that are unnatural . To each their own of course , but it was a defeating feeling to me . Being a chocolate girl , I’ve had casting directors tell me that I need to be in the back or that they would never book me for the main girl because I don’t look exotic enough . I’m saying all of these things to say that I have really heard some horrible things in the industry , but if I would’ve let those things break me then I would be where I am today . That is what started me wanting to take my writing and film and also content creating more seriously . I wanted people to know me and to have an actual identity . Not just somebody in videos all the time .

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a writer , content creator, actress, and producer . I’m honestly just the film industry all in one . I’m know for mainly my skits and viral videos on social media . I’m the most proud of my writing and production credits because that’s something that’s genuinely my passion and I just want things to keep getting bigger for me . What sets me apart from others is that I take pride into my work and ALSO the people that I bring to work for me . I want people to feel comfortable and like they’re at home with me . Some sets are very stressful and have too many people with power complexes . I’m very hands on with anybody that I work with and they always feel confident after working with me .

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
The way that I would define success can be many things ….flourishing beyond your goals to the point that you can say that you’re officially either financially or emotionally secure .

Also success is thoroughly completing a planned journey .

I wanna get to the point to where I can build my dream house from the ground up , have my huge vegetable and fruit garden , and just be financially abundant .
