Today we’d like to introduce you to Dustin Bka The Artist HYMAGINN Kelley.

Hi Dustin bka The artist HYMAGINN , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve been creating rhymes since elementary. Like many, I began writing poetry early on. As I grew, I learned to add poetry to instrumentals and write songs by writing the songs of other artists just to rap or sing along with them. I realized I could create melodies and cadences and simply add my own words.
I believe I’ve been writing and creating ever since then, never stopped.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Its definitely been a hard road. Losing my big sister along the way was a major blow. She was 1 of my biggest supporters and motivators. HER sudden passing in 2021 was devastating. I fell into deep depression, gave up on life and life’s goals.
I’ve also struggled with finding my demographic because I feel I make music for the world. But finding long term fans has been tough. Also, being independent, there are times when real life has to come 1st. So the juggle and balance of life and music can be tough.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I write and perform vocals. Thats me as an artist. I try to stay in my lane and do what im good at. The people who know me, no matter what area of life, know me for being a rapper/music artist. Its been my lifelong journey. I also write screenplays when I can find the time to focus and get them done. Look forward to some future endeavors.

I’m most proud of Being independent and being able to accomplish things such as writing and recording music, being able to get it distributed to the world, Landing magazine placements, record music videos, The podcasts interviews and radio spins, etc.

Sometimes a career in music can feel stagnant until you look back over time and realize how much you’ve actually accomplished on your own.

I honestly believe my ambition sets me apart from others. Even when I see no pay off, I continue to go for it. My passion for creativity keeps my drive alive. Not praises, Not celebrations, not even money. Its the passion and love for the art.
