Today we’d like to introduce you to Faith Vue.
Hi Faith, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
With my journey, I started my business right after high school in 2017. Lash extensions weren’t as high of a demand then as it is now. I took a lash course with my mother as another source of income added along with nail services which I was also doing at the time as well before I fully committed to lash extensions and the aesthetics industry. I originally started lashing out of my mother’s townhome in the living room part-time after working at the nail salon from 10am-8pm. I was determined to perfect my craft and would still take at least one client after work as well because that’s how dedicated I was. My family crossed to the US from Laos and have been through the struggles and experienced struggles. So I believe my duty here and purpose here is to be able to give back to my family and do better for the new generation to come. To make an imprint on this world and having something here for generations. Creating generational wealth and breaking generational curses. So everything I do will always be out of dedication, love, heart, blood sweat, and tears. It’s nothing but HARD WORK. Really taking advantage of your prime years, Staying afloat.
After the pandemic (2020) I gave everything I had and invested into my business & strictly wanted to focus on everything aesthetics and lash extensions. The pandemic taught me a lot about myself and made me realize that there was so much more that the world and God had to offer me. Within a year of consistency (2021) I started working for myself and became my own boss. My business grew rapidly and quickly by word of mouth and remaining consistent with my craft. So I went ahead and furthered my education by enrolling into Esthetician school at Elaine Sterling Institute in Buckhead, Georgia & graduated as an ESI Alumni on September 24th, 2021. I learned to love my craft and what I do now as my career because of the impact I had and have on my clients and the relationships I’ve also built over the years. It was never really about the money for me because I truly enjoy and love what I am doing but more so about the impact I have on someone in a matter of minutes to 2 hours of their service and out of their day.
The fact that I can make someone’s day or boost someone’s confidence level and make them feel better about themselves by simply doing a service that’s what made me continue to pursue my dream. My client’s reactions was what kept me going. I love that I can take care of people in a different matter and way.
I have been lashing for six years now but three years consistently. It takes consistency to become successful in anything you put your mind to. Being very disciplined and committed to your craft. Once I learned that my first year fully doing lashes full time that all it takes is consistency, hard work, and dedication my work got better. There were so many improvements in my styles and looks I offered. Running a business and being an entrepreneur is a very difficult and challenging task but it is very doable. There are many character developments that you learn along the way but that’s the beautiful part of the process is the way your character develops and the trial + error you encounter and learn from along the way. The journey isn’t easy, but it’s definitely worth the run. The marathon for me definitely continues because I don’t see a finish line with my craft, journey, and purpose here on this world. So this is definitely the beginning for me for all that’s to come and for me to offer my clients and the world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth journey but it’s definitely been a grateful and learning experience. I don’t believe that every journey will be smooth because you need experience in order to be successful and be able to teach others who may also be aspired by your industry or business.
There were definitely struggles along the way as far as learning how to write off taxes, managing your social media accounts, being the graphic designer before hiring one, a manager, boss, business owner, & customer service. I feel as though those were the struggles or challenging moments but over time, you learn how to deal with them and improve those areas.
You also hit a mental block sometimes or creative block and lose yourself or creativity because work can become overwhelming at times as well as learning to not take your workday home and decompressing all that energy at the foot of your door before stepping in. Overall you have to know and learn how to pull yourself out that funk and find the drive and hunger as to why you started in the first place. Always remember your purpose.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a licensed esthetician that graduated as an alumni at Elaine Sterling Institute. I mainly specialize in and offer lash extensions, hair removal, and brow services.
I would say I’m mainly known for lash extensions. I am very creative when it comes to lash extensions. I feel as though that’s where I am able to express myself the most. Each set I offer has different looks and requires different lengths and curls, but each one is specifically created and customized to fit my client’s face and eye shape perfectly.
I’m most proud of my consistency. Not giving up even when times got rough and challenging. Having faith even when no one else believed in me or the seasons were slow. I’m also very proud of the woman and business owner I am growing to become and be.
What sets me apart from others? I feel as though I’m very caring of my clients. It was never really about the money it was always about making a difference in someone’s life and changing their mood for the day. Making an impact by a simple conversation or service offered. Becoming a lash artist and esthetician, you also become and grow to be a “therapist”. Listening to others during the service and helping in areas they may need help with or advising them, relaying to my past experiences. I look at my clients as they’re my family as well.I’m also a girl’s girl so having younger women who come get serviced that are in high school or college that may need help at figuring things out in life as far as remaining consistent chasing their dreams, advices for relationships, mentorship as an entrepreneur, or simply just life and being an ear to them is what really sets me apart. I care for every person equally and with love always.” My purpose here I believe is to be a light to others in their life if they are around me.
What are your plans for the future?
Future plans: I definitely want to open an elite school to provide for young women and men that are interested in the aesthetics industry and become a mentor to others who are aspiring to be an entrepreneur.
Over time I also want to give back to nonprofit organizations and to the homeless during the seasons. Being able to bless others who are in need with my success and the things I’ve been blessed with & earned. Travel to different countries and offer services or classes. Touring the world. Spreading my business and brand. Releasing products with my brand. Helping others in third world countries. But I also would say what God has in store for me in the future is what I want and have planned. What he has called and planned for me is what I want to execute and strive for.
