Rising Stars: Meet Jai Indi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jai Indi.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a New York native who’s always been involved in the arts and I really identified with Atlanta’s culture surrounding that. On March 17th, 2021, I made a decision that would change mine and my son’s life forever. We packed everything we could into a minivan and made our way into town. My video documenting the process went viral on TikTok and quickly spread to other outlets resulting in an outpouring of love and support; thus jumpstarting my new role as a content creator. Just over a year later, we are celebrating my transition into this new lifestyle and my success across multiple platforms.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
To call the road smooth would be a major understatement to the road bumps and sometimes roadblocks I’ve faced on this journey. As a fully single parent, this has been nothing short of hard but the obstacles I’ve overcome make the story beautiful. It has definitely been a rough road, to the point of almost losing everything; so when I sit back and reflect on this past year I realize that navigating this new city with a toddler is honestly just now starting to make sense. Finding schools, new jobs and even things as simple as making friends has been a process that I’m grateful to have gone through. I hope that my testaments can inspire others to keep going because the sunshine always comes after every storm.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As of right now, my main focus has been content creation via TikTok and creating aesthetically pleasing content through my Instagram stories and reels. I was previously a photographer before I moved to Atlanta but I’ve taken a step back from that professionally and have only been working with my son creating a portfolio for him. My current passion project is getting him into modeling and acting. As far as my Tiktok content, I truly pride myself on being relatable in a world and platform full of people flaunting a lifestyle that seems unattainable and showing people like me that the lifestyle they desire is in fact very tangible.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory is 100% coming to Atlanta for a Christmas show and meeting Usher. It’s hilarious to think about how much of a super fan I was at the age of seven. I cried for about an hour and didn’t let anyone touch the hand he touched for about a full month after. I was literally on cloud 9, hopefully I’ll meet him again soon so I can tell him the story of his biggest fan.
