Rising Stars: Meet KB Vega of Newton

Today we’d like to introduce you to KB Vega.

KB Vega

Hi KB, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Absolutely! You know, growing up, I struggled a lot with how I felt about myself. I had very low self-esteem, zero confidence, and honestly never felt like I was good enough. For years, I masked the pain, guilt, sadness, and everything I was dealing with through drugs and alcohol, which eventually turned into a full-blown addiction. I spent a long time hiding from myself and numbing everything instead of actually healing.

After hitting rock bottom, I got tired of my own BS and knew I needed to completely change my life. It wasn’t an overnight process at all. It took years of therapy, self-help books, a lot of inner work, and the support of my friends and family to rebuild myself and learn how to truly love who I am.

I realized that the more I talk about my story, not only would it help my healing process, but might help others too. I started to share what I went through on IG, which then led me to incoporate my love for fashion along with helping people, and that’s when my brand, inspiher empire, was born.

I know what it feels like to feel broken, lost, and not worthy enough, so my mission has always been bigger than clothing. I want women to feel seen, confident, and empowered, & know that no matter where they came from, they can completely rewrite their story.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Has it been a smooth road? Absolutely not. Not even close. While I was trying to build something meaningful and turn my pain into purpose, I was still struggling a little bit with how I felt about myself behind the scenes. Self-doubt, fear, insecurity, and overthinking would creep in constantly, and there were many moments where I questioned if I was even good enough to do any of it.

There were days I felt completely overwhelmed trying to balance healing, life, business, and figuring out who I truly was outside of all the pain I carried for years. A lot of people see the highlights now, but they don’t always see the battles that happen internally. The moments where I wanted to give up, felt defeated, or questioned everything I was building.

But no matter how hard it got, I kept pushing forward because I knew there had to be a bigger purpose behind everything I went through. Little by little, I started realizing that healing isn’t about becoming perfect. It’s about continuing to choose yourself, believe in yourself, and keep going even on the days when it feels hard.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Well, I am a designer and entrepreneur. A one-woman business that creates, inspires, and empowers not only with the clothing I create but with the community I am building. People always ask me what sets my brand apart from the rest, and my answer is always the same. My brand is personal. It comes from the heart of my own experiences. Each design has a backstory on why I created it in the first place. But like I mentioned above, it’s not just about the clothing. It’s about the sisterhood and connections we are creating while helping women feel cute, comfy, and confident in what they wear, but also making them feel seen and heard. That’s what it is all about.

Along with being a small business owner, I recently decided to finally go after a dream I had buried for years…becoming a model professionally. When I was younger, I was made to feel like I wasn’t the “right” size or look to be in this industry, and those words stuck with me for a long time. They honestly stopped me from pursuing something I always wanted to do.

So now to be walking on runways, doing photoshoots, and stepping into this world almost feels surreal to me. More than anything, I’m proud of myself for not letting those fears and limiting beliefs win. I want women to see that it doesn’t matter your age, size, or where you come from. You are still allowed to chase your dreams and take up space.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I LOVE collaborating with & supporting other small business owners and creatives! I always answer emails or DM’s…actually, that’s probably the best way to reach me.
