Rising Stars: Meet Kendyl C

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kendyl C.

Hi Kendyl, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Honestly, I’m not even a social media type of person. I suffer with bad social anxiety and because of it I would close myself off from the rest of the world but people that know me, like.. KNOW ME, would always say I have so much to offer the world..so much light, knowledge, and talent. So, I started off with my passion which is beauty and wellness. I started my business page Nilore beauty & wellness where I do makeup tutorials, skincare routines, etc. Then I started taking little bookings for photo shoots. Then, music videos, then I started tiktoking to get my face out there and it kinda just moved forward from there.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Just getting out of my shell… my comfort zone. Meeting new people and networking. I’m very spiritually inclined and I think if you’re a spiritual person in general… you automatically have a fear of rejection from the world or just taking on different energies around you. Being seen by Millions of people on the internet is a scary thing honestly especially if you’re aware.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am what they call nowadays a social media influencer and a model. I’ve worked with many different companies in different industries, to music, art, health, beauty and wellness. I’m a beauty and health guru specifically skin care and self-consciousness. I’m known for being the introverted spiritual bad a** on TikTok (*laughs) Modeling is art and art is my passion, it’s my safe haven to escape. I’m a totally different person when get in front of that camera. Right now I’m working on a vitamin c serum and a rice water hair mask, hopefully everything is top tier by Feb of next year, I want it perfect so I’m literally in no rush to dispense until I no for sure it’s going to give 105% results. I’m just proud of the woman I’ve become inside and out ya no. I get a lot of DMs from women asking me how do I remain who I am in today’s society and standards of how women should look or act and how to become more feminine etc. And honestly, it comes from pure self-love. That’s all I can say. Years and years of healing, ego death and studies of where you come from. I just want ….specifically women to know you don’t have to have it ALL figured out, hell I don’t! You don’t have to fit in, show up yourself, that’s what I’m most proud of myself for… Always showing up myself, exploring different avenues and standing on things I believe in.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
I’ve been blessed to come across some amazing mentors. Big time industry artist that’s been in the scene for 20 plus years, that respects my hustle and just wants to see me do great things. But before I met him, I would just go to different events, pop up shops, take jobs for photo shoots and parties… things like that. Getting out in the scene and observing what everyone is into, even the music people listen to if you’re looking to get in that field. If you’re scared to get out there, go with a good friend so it’ll be more comfortable. Networking is very important it’s your foundation and game plan.
