Today we’d like to introduce you to Nakosha Briggs.
Hi Nakosha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started like any other creative I guess? Just a Disney kid with a dream. I was introduced to Kenny Ortega at a very young age. When you experience gifts that early on, you kind of latch on to it; it becomes part of your makeup almost. Growing up in Atlanta meant experiencing art from all walks of life. I love my parents for introducing different forms of creativity and business to me at such a young age.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I believe strongly in alignment. My journey has been “smooth” in terms of personal perspective. I consider my journey one of change and evolution, and that’s bound to come with some unexpected side quests for sure. I’m just grateful to have people around me who make this journey worthwhile.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I grew up with a passion for the arts and storytelling, and I’ve been fortunate enough to build a career in film and TV.
I’m most proud of stepping out of my shell to write, produce, and direct my first short film, Jello Shots — a comedy about a soon-to-be graduate struggling to accept that his high school career is over. In the story, he decides to pull one final senior prank to secure his legacy and ropes his friends into his crazy plan. I look forward to creating more fun work like that. It was a major shift in my career, and I’ve loved sharing it with others.
Creating isn’t just a job for me — it’s how I connect with people, explore emotions, and bring characters to life in ways that feel real and impactful. As I pivot into this new stage of my life, I look forward to creating more of my own work. I’m grateful for my journey so far and excited to offer the world so much more of myself.
We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Betting on yourself in this industry is the most strategic thing you can do, I believe it’s inevitable.
I’ve written, directed, produced, and acted in works created by me because I felt like I had perspective to give to the world. Doing anything in life is going to require you to have faith in something. Why not have faith in yourself?
I’m a champion for others who want to take risks because I know how difficult it can be to gain support for a vision only you can see. It truly is a blessing to offer my gifts to those who can benefit from it.
