Rising Stars: Meet Sarina Woods of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarina Woods.

Hi Sarina, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I got started was when I decided to take classes in 2018 from a professional makeup artist Monica Pope. In 2023 I decided to become a licensed aesthetician at Atlanta School of Massage. In 2025 I received my license through the state of Georgia. I became a professional makeup artist at Sephora as of now.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been an easy road at all. Some of the struggles along the way were to understand different types of skin types, skin conditions, and sensitivity levels. I learned that not all clients are the same and that you will definitely need to be specific when needing to achieve a goal with a client. Knowing how to identify a specific look takes time and the more you work towards your craft, the better your skills become.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a licensed beauty advisor. I specialize in special occasion, makeup wedding makeup, soft glam, natural glam, and much more.
I am known for more of a soft glam or a soft application.
I almost proud of achieving my goal of understanding, different undertones and different skin types. Most products are specifically made for specific clients.
What sets me apart from other artists is that I will give a professional and honest experience to each client. I pride myself on being a successful artist with a passion for skin.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I do not believe luck has anything to do with artistry and skill set. If you’re doing a good job through your journey your skills will improve more and more.
