Rising Stars: Meet Sundae Phillips

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sundae Phillips.

Sundae, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Ever since I was a little girl, I would cut up, paint, glue and sew my clothes. I always liked looking different even if it meant people laughing at me. When I was in the 9th grade myself along with three of my friends, were brainstorming on starting a clothing line called “geti” but we never did go through with the plan. Five years ago, my older sister was taken from us and I fell into a deep depression. I began crafting as a way to cope and fell in love all over again. In 2018, I started taking orders here and there but I mostly gave away everything I made for free because I never felt like I was good enough to think I should be paid seriously. In 2020 EVERYTHING changed! My mindset was different. The pandemic was a blessing in disguise for my business. I landed a deal with MGM grand doing 110 face masks for them in LAs Vegas! Little did I know GOD had something even bigger for me in 2021! I ended up going viral on TikTok Nov. 7th of last year for revamping Walmart boots and sneakers. I never gave up. I stayed and worked my business even when people told me I was stupid and that I would never go far with it. Ha proved them wrong! Business has been booming ever since!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This road was the hardest! Sleepless nights. Staying up 48hrs straight to complete orders. Constant researching of products and info for my niche. Family being unsupportive. Friends trying to steal my supplies and all my ideas. Not having enough money to buy equipment. Not generating enough income to pay bills… I can go on and on., but the most important thing WAS I DIDNT LET my struggles BREAK MY SPIRIT! I kept going. Because I felt soo strong about what I was doing!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My name is Sundae and I am the owner of a few businesses. One of which Sheek24 which went viral on social media for revamping Walmart boots and sneakers. I did it soo much that I ended up meeting Shaq and showed him personally a pair of revamped sneakers I did using his shoe! Many people know me as that “walmart revamp girl” lol I also specialize in building business and personal credit. I am proud that I never gave up. Because I know what it’s like to have nothing, I am grateful for everything I get. I go above and beyond for ANYONE that comes into contact with me. I am a giver by nature. I am a natural-born leader and I motivate others to go for their dreams. What really sets me apart from others is my transparency! I am as real as they come… except for my hair and nails… lol

How do you define success?
Success to me means I am performing at my best. I embody the characteristics I admire and I am or have accomplished my goals. In simple terms, it means finding a way by any means necessary to make something that I thought was impossible WORK!
