Rising Stars: Meet Tamara Verriett of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tamara Verriett.

Hi Tamara, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
One day sitting on the computer at work this vision flashed before my very eyes. I shook it off because my thoughts were that could not come true. As I went about my daily routine months later words to write in my first book came to me. It was connected to the vision I had months ago. I went to the computer and begin to write. Before I knew it I had written my first published book. I went to a performing arts high school and always had a love for theater. So, I wrote a play as a spin off of the book. After traveling around the United States performing the theatrical play. I decided it was time to come off the road back home to Atlanta. From there I opened Verriett Productions Studio located in Conyers to give back to the community and surrounding areas.
My logo is “Come Where Dreams Come True”

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
First, let me say if it had not been for the Lord on my side. I never would be where I am today. With the economy being in the state that it is. There were days when I was the only person in my building. I am also a
a wife, educator, and minister in the gospel. These areas can be very demanding on some days. Trying to juggle all of them with balance and not go under can me overwhelming at times. Financially, mentally, and emotionally. Yes, there were times I felt like throwing in the towel.
Yes, I thought to myself are you sure this is what you are suppose to be doing. Just when I was about to quit someone or something would happen to reignite my fire.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an Educator, Business Owner, Television Personality, Playwright, and Minister of the Gospel. Yes, wearing certainly require a lot. However, they all coincide with each other making it possible to achieve the mission.
I humbly state that being multi-talented allows me to touch lives all ages from different walks of life.
As an entrepreneur I am able to bring my expertise into the business and share my knowledge, skills, and techniques with others from various cultures.
When I write plays as a playwright I am able to produce stories that come to life on stage. These Inspirational Comedic plays about real people with real life issues bring hope and inspiration to the audience that they can overcome adversity. The humor, drama, singing, and dancing performed by the cast is something all ages can enjoy.
Rental space is a available to those looking for somewhere to have their next special occasion. This often brings family and friends together in a clean, pleasant, and intimate environment. Moments that can always cherish are made at these special occasions.
Last but not least, educator. I often think this is my most challenging. Teaching English Language Arts in the middle grades 6-8, is not for the weak at heart.
Kids of today educators often say are a different breed from yesterday in many ways. An individual must have a love for it as well as the teaching skills, knowledge, and techniques to be successful. The success stories you see and hear make it all worthwhile.
My most proud moment was airing on television for three years to those in the United States, Europe, and Africa spreading the gospel. Receiving emails from people who watched the television broadcast expressing their how they were touched meant the world me. Very humbling and gracious.
I think what sets me apart from others is that I realize we are all born for a purpose.
Staying people friendly and touchable by others is a way that keeps you authentic

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I like best about the city is that it is beautiful and cultural diverse. I like least is the traffic and it becoming over crowded.
