Today we’d like to introduce you to Trey Logan.
Hi Trey, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have been going to conventions for a number of years at this point. Since, if I can recall correctly, 2006 starting with Anime Weekend Atlanta almost every year since then. I had an Olympus point and shoot style digital camera that I used for a couple of years. There was a period of time where I didn’t really take photographs when attending cons. It may have been 2019 or 2020 that I wanted to start taking photos again so I looked into getting an entry level DLSR camera bundle. I ended up going with a a Nikon D3300 and from there getting hallway photos. I had a close friend push and encourage me to consider volunteering for the photography department at MomoCon. And I have nearly every year since.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I honestly think it has been a pretty smooth road and journey to where I have gotten.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My primary job is being a special needs caregiver to my brother whom has cerebral palsy. I consider myself a profession amateur in terms of photography. I focus on portraiture and cosplay photography. I regularly attend and often volunteer for conventions. I typically wonder the convention campus asking cosplayers for a photo. So basically it is roaming hallway photos. I do occasionally have photoshoots. I do not know if this sets me apart but I think I have a good rapport with cosplayers.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
As far as I can remember, I do not think I have ever taken any major risks in regards to my work. Being risky can pay off depending on the situation and scenario. I do admire people that take risks.
