Rising Stars: Meet Vikee of Designer Diva

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vikee.

Hi Vikee, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
When I started my blog Living La Vida Diva, I did NOT fit in. Most of the fashion bloggers I knew were young, tall, blond and skinny. I am none of those things. I eventually learned I’m not the only one that doesn’t ‘fit’ the fashion norm.
I’ve slowly found my tribe.

I believe fashion should reflect what you are feeling at the moment.
Like an artist, they paint a canvas and express their mood at the time. My body is my canvas and my clothes are my paint.

My blog and content creating have evolved through the years.

I now cover beauty as well and show vegetarian options for my followers.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No smooth roads for me! Potholes and detours eventually brought me to where I am today.
Social anxiety was a huge struggle for me and sometimes still is.
When I first started going to events I would take pictures to post on social media then hide in the bathroom, call my best friend and eventually leave.
Everyone commented on how I had such an exciting life.
It was fake. I didn’t speak to anyone or make any connections. I eventually made myself meet five people before I would allow myself to leave.
I now can walk into any event in Atlanta, North Carolina and South Carolina and see someone I know. If not, I will make a new friend that day!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I create content and write about alot of things. Music, art, beauty, food etc.
My main passion is fashion.
I feel like being older, I focus more on the moment and making memories.

I take chances. I shoot my shot. All they can do is say “no”, right?

My proudest moments? Let’s see, there are quite a few.

Winning three awards for my work will always make me feel like I’m doing the right thing. Even on the days where I doubt myself the most.

Meeting and interviewing some famous faces in fashion has been unreal to me!

I would say the top moment was interviewing Christian Siriano.
I’ve adored him since he premiered on Project Runway in 2007.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’m active in all platforms because I feel like there’s different audiences in each one!

I am Designerdiva1103 on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok and YouTube.

My email is designerdiva1103@gmail.com

I’d love to come cover your events! Feel free to reach out.
