We recently had the chance to connect with Cynthia Osaseri and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Cynthia, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: Are you walking a path—or wandering?
I am walking along a path, but I am looking around. My eyes wander back and forth. There are intersecting paths, connecting to the one I walk on. Some are paved, mostly clear with little to no leaves or vegetation. Others beaten by desire, the footpaths made by many, other others made by a few. I stay on the path, most of the time, occasionally sidestepping on to others. The sky is overcast. The air is cool, and I am still walking.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Well, my name is Cynthia Osaseri, and I am artist. I work primarily in television, books, and games. I am currently working as a Set Designer for animated features in the daytime. In my free time, I illustrate for books and indie productions, and I have a great time doing so.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Unfortunately, the world told me who I had to be very early on, so I have no idea who I was before. I simply do not remember her. However, I am currently understanding who I have been and take part of them into who I want to be now. Who ever she is, the person I was, I hope one day in the near future, we will recognize each other.
What’s something you changed your mind about after failing hard?
If you try so hard not to fail, you are bound to fail anyway. Take all the precautions you need, don’t be reckless, but don’t be timid. Be realistic, but do not be restrictive. If you think you are going to fail, being in the best position can do just that. Do not take advice from anyone who doesn’t want to be someday, and it’s okay to talk to the people who trust before, during and after. It is okay to let it all out.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. Is the public version of you the real you?
Every version of me is “real”. The honest struggle is figuring out which ones are true.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Neither. I am doing what I both want and have to do.
