Story & Lesson Highlights with Dr. Renee Sunday MD of Atlanta

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Dr. Renee Sunday MD. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Renee, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
My mornings are where I feel God guiding me the most. Before I even reach for my phone, I take a moment to breathe, thank God for another day, and ask for clarity to serve well. I sit with Scripture, not rushing it, just letting one verse settle my spirit.

Most days I journal a few lines about what God places on my heart. Some mornings it’s strength. Some mornings it’s guidance. Some mornings it’s simply gratitude. Then I speak life over my day, my health, my family, and the people whose paths I’ll cross.

After that, I look over my schedule and get clear on the top priorities that align with my calling. That quiet space at the start keeps me grounded. It reminds me that everything I build, lead, and support flows from purpose, not pressure.

Those first 90 minutes feel like my daily reset, my way of making sure I’m showing up whole, steady, and ready.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Dr. Renee Sunday. I am a physician, Certified AI Consultant, wellness consultant, and the creator of ventures that reflect my passion for service and meaningful impact. My career began in medicine, where I spent many years as an anesthesiologist caring for patients during vulnerable moments. Those experiences shaped my commitment to compassion, clarity, and purposeful leadership.

Today I guide leaders, entrepreneurs, and organizations through my REST Framework, corporate wellness teachings, and AI-focused strategies. I also created Sunday Leads, a system that supports healthcare and wellness practices in recovering revenue that is often lost when phone calls go unanswered. It gives practices a clear path to support their patients with consistency and care.

Another extension of my work is Sunday Legacy Home Care Services. After supporting my parents through their health needs, I gained a deep understanding of the importance of dependable home care. This venture honors their influence on my life and reflects my dedication to dignity and family-centered support.

Everything I build is grounded in faith, service, and the desire to help people live, lead, and grow with confidence and alignment.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My teachers were the ones who recognized my potential long before I understood it myself. They noticed my commitment to learning, the way I carried myself, and the quiet determination I showed even at a young age. Their words often came at moments when I needed them the most.

They encouraged me to think bigger, lead with confidence, and trust that I had something valuable to offer. Each affirmation became a small reminder that I was capable of more than I realized. Those early voices shaped my belief in what was possible for my life.

As I look back, I see how their support helped guide my path in medicine, business, and ministry. They saw strength in me before I fully recognized it, and their belief became part of the foundation I stand on today.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
Some of the defining wounds in my life came during seasons when I carried more than I thought I could handle. Caring for my parents during their health journeys changed me in ways I am still grateful for. It stretched me emotionally and spiritually. It brought moments of heartbreak and also moments of deep love. That experience showed me how fragile life can be and how powerful compassion truly is.

I have also walked through times when I felt unseen or underestimated. Those moments left their mark. They challenged my confidence and made me question my path. Over time I realized those wounds were shaping something in me. They taught me how to stand firm, honor my calling, and keep my focus on what God placed in my hands.

Healing for me has come through prayer, honest reflection, and choosing forgiveness. It has come through giving myself permission to rest, to feel, and to grow. It has come through community and through the quiet reminder that I do not have to carry everything alone.

These experiences did not stop me. They seasoned me. They gave me a deeper well of compassion, strength, and purpose. Today I lead, teach, and serve from a place that has been tested, refined, and strengthened by grace.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
A cultural value I protect at all costs is respect. I grew up in a home where respect guided every interaction. It meant honoring elders, speaking with kindness, listening with intention, and carrying yourself with dignity in all situations. The foundation from my upbringing stayed with me through my years in medicine and continues to influence how I lead and serve today.

Respect creates safety and strengthens trust. It reminds us that every person carries a story and deserves to be treated with care. As I support families, mentor leaders, and build teams, I hold firmly to this standard.

Respect remains non-negotiable for me. It anchors my character and shapes the culture of every space I step into.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say I lived with compassion, courage, and service at the center of everything I touched. I hope they remember a woman who cared deeply, who listened, who lifted others, and who believed in the greatness inside people long before they believed in it themselves.

I want my story to reflect a life spent helping others rise. A life that honored God, honored family, and honored every assignment placed in my hands. I hope people say their lives felt lighter, clearer, or more hopeful because our paths crossed.

My desire is for my legacy to live in the hearts of the people I encouraged, the families I supported, the leaders I guided, and the communities I poured into. I want the story to be simple. She loved people. She served well. She kept going. And she made the world a little better while she was here.
