We’re looking forward to introducing you to Jean-Marie Andrews. Check out our conversation below.
Jean-Marie, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
The first 90 minutes of my day are intentionally quiet and grounded. I wake early, before the pace of the world begins, and start with prayer and time in the Word. That time anchors everything that follows—it’s where I gain clarity, alignment, and direction before responsibilities and creativity compete for my attention.
From there, I ease into the practical rhythms of the morning: preparing my children for the day, tending to our home, and creating space for calm rather than urgency. I don’t rush into emails or social media. I’ve learned that how I start my day determines how I carry myself through it.
By the time I sit down to work or create, I’m already centered—mentally, spiritually, and emotionally—which allows me to lead, design, and serve from a place of intention rather than reaction.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Jean-Marie, and I’m the founder of Facets by JèM, a creative studio centered on helping people build brilliantly sustainable lifestyles—both in their spaces and in their lives. My work sits at the intersection of interior design, art therapy, creative consulting, and faith-led formation. At its core, everything I do is about transformation—taking what already exists and revealing its purpose, beauty, and function.
What makes my work unique is that it’s deeply intentional and holistic. I don’t approach design as decoration, or creativity as surface-level expression. I see spaces, art, and process as tools for restoration, clarity, and alignment. Whether I’m designing a home, guiding someone through creative healing, or teaching through content and community, the goal is always the same: to help people live with purpose and stewardship.
My journey into this work wasn’t linear. It was shaped through seasons of refinement, motherhood, faith, and learning how to listen closely—to God, to people, and to the stories embedded in their environments. Today, Facets by JèM continues to evolve as both a studio and a platform, supporting individuals, families, and communities as they turn their dreams into a brilliant reality.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
A part of me that has served its purpose—and that I’m intentionally releasing—is the need to overextend myself in order to prove value. For a long time, that instinct was rooted in responsibility and survival. It taught me resilience, adaptability, and how to carry a lot with grace. But what once helped me endure is no longer what helps me lead.
In this season, I’m learning that clarity is more powerful than overcapacity. I don’t need to be everything to everyone, or say yes to every good idea, to walk in purpose. Releasing that mindset has allowed me to refine my work, protect what matters most, and steward my creativity with greater intention.
Letting go doesn’t mean losing parts of myself—it means honoring what those parts taught me and trusting that growth sometimes requires subtraction. What remains is focus, alignment, and a deeper confidence in how and where I’m called to show up.
What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me how to listen—deeply and honestly. Success can affirm ability and effort, but suffering stripped away noise and forced me to discern what actually matters. It taught me patience, humility, and how to move with intention instead of urgency.
Through hardship, I learned that endurance isn’t about pushing harder—it’s about staying aligned. I became more aware of when to pause, when to refine, and when to release what no longer serves the season I’m in. That awareness now shapes how I lead, create, and serve.
Most importantly, suffering taught me that growth doesn’t always come through expansion. Sometimes it comes through pruning. The clarity that came from those seasons continues to guide my work today, allowing me to build with purpose, stewardship, and a deeper trust in the process.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m deeply committed to the belief that lasting transformation—whether in a person, a space, or a community—happens through intention, patience, and stewardship. I don’t believe in rushing process or building for visibility alone. The work I care about most is the kind that takes time to mature and reveals its impact gradually.
Through Facets by JèM, I’m committed to building environments and creative experiences that are rooted in purpose rather than trend. That means designing and creating in ways that honor what already exists, reduce waste, and support how people actually live, grow, and heal over time. It also means investing in people—through education, creative formation, and faith-led guidance—knowing that the fruit of that work often shows up long after the initial effort.
I’m comfortable with slow growth because I’m building for longevity. My focus isn’t on quick wins, but on foundations that can carry weight, endure change, and continue to serve well into the future.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
What would remain is faith, love, and service. Long before titles or work, I am rooted in my relationship with God and in how I show up for people—with care, honesty, and intention. That grounding shapes everything else.
If everything external were stripped away, I would still be someone who listens deeply, creates with purpose, and stewards what’s been entrusted to her—whether that’s a space, a story, or a season in someone else’s life. I believe what lasts most isn’t what we accumulate, but how we love, how we build, and how faithfully we walk out what we’ve been given.
That’s the legacy I care about leaving behind—not a name, but an impact that continues to serve long after I’m gone.
