We recently had the chance to connect with Kiara Reid and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiara, thank you so much for joining us today. We’re thrilled to learn more about your journey, values and what you are currently working on. Let’s start with an ice breaker: When was the last time you felt true joy?
Since I’ve had my daughter , I get to experience joy on a regular basis. Watching her grow, learn, and be curious about the world around her.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Kiara Reid owner of CLN SKN BY KEY. I’ve been in the Beauty Industry since 2013. I started off as a Make-up assistant and worked my way to starting my first business KBK Beauty. During that time I also attained my cosmetology license , specializing in Skincare. My love for beauty is more than skin deep. I know beauty has the power to uplift and heal people, and for me that is always the goal behind what I do.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My grandmothers’, on both my mother and fathers side of the family. My great grandmother and grandmother would just pour into me and tell me that I was great. That I would make something of myself and “make it to the top”.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering for me, has been a great lesson in perspective and resilience. Its taught me to deal with my feelings and circumstances in a way that being successful couldn’t. Its easy to be happy, positive, and productive when your getting everything you want. But can you still hold true to those values when things aren’t so great.

So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, for the most part. I mean there are things that I keep private and close to my heart. But my love for people and healing is something that is true to who I am in public and in private.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Worrying! I wouldn’t waste the time I had left worrying about a single thing.
