Conversations with LiiDa T

Today we’d like to introduce you to LiiDa T.

Hi LiiDa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
This business is just what I wanted, it’s fun and creative. By starting LiiDa’s Shot Creations, my creativity just flows. I really enjoy creating different flavors, taking trips to different liquor stores, and thinking of new products customers would like. I’m always excited to share the shots with others and visit new places. When I started Shot Creations during the pandemic, it was to bring some fun to a very uncertain time. I had no idea how far it would go or where it would take me but I’m definitely excited to continue on this journey.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t and still isn’t smooth sailing. There are times when I don’t fully see the benefit but I keep pushing. Learning who is my target audience or ideal customer and the best event to attend has been my biggest struggle. In the beginning, I thought I should attend every event to get exposure and introduce my products but that’s not the case. I should attend events that suit my product. For example, a backyard BBQ versus a Mother’s Day pop-up shop.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a Project Manager (PM) for a non-profit agency that helps adults and children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I started working there in 2013, just after college. I started in the IT dept and then I was promoted to Project Manager in the Fiscal/Financial dept in 2018. As a PM, I support the agency’s system of record for the people we support which provides our revenue. I’m most excited that in 2021, I passed the PMP exam and am now a certified Project Management Professional. It’s very cool having those three letters after my name. In this role, I’m well known for my training skills. I’ve created over 50 user guides and training tools for staff which has become mandatory training as of August 2022.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Age 7-9 joined the Girl Scouts and spent the night at the New York Aquarium in Coney Island. It was cool being there after hours with the animals and running around the whole place.
