Exploring Life & Business with Alexis Warren

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Warren.

Hi Alexis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started cooking for my friends and family for fun because I love new recipes and feeding people! I only ever thought of it as a hobby and never thought I could make an income from something I enjoyed so much. During the pandemic shutdown, I needed a new source of income and started making plates to sell to people in my area. People LOVED the food and were constantly asking, “what’s next?”. This grew so quickly into catering events, birthdays and private dinner parties. Now I am opening a mobile food truck in the summer!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This road has been divinely paved! Every single step of the way has been beautiful and filled with ease. I was shocked to see how much people were willing to support me and how much they love the food I make every day. My family, friends, former classmates, teachers, community members… everyone supports me on a daily basis and I wouldn’t be anywhere without their efforts! I truly believe that support combined with finally walking in my purpose and believing in myself is what made this process easy for me.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My business is a taco truck! I specialize in Birria tacos, the famous TikTok dipping tacos! I am proud to say that I offer vegan and vegetarian options of a popular dish that otherwise might not accommodate all diet types. Being in South Atlanta (#ClaytonCounty) was so important to me because I grew up here and my community is STRONG! My business is bringing good, quality food to areas that don’t always have access to things like that.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Food Trucks are going up and up only in the next decade! With more and more people opting to stay home during the pandemic, food trucks offer customers a way to get the feeling of going out and doing something fun combined with eating well.

Pricing:

  • 4 tacos 1 side $12
  • Birria Ramen $10
  • Birria Quesadillas $10/2 for $15
  • Family Special 12 tacos Large Side $30
