Inspiring Conversations with Tiffany Burns of The Lotus Legacy

Hi Tiffany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up in a household with a single parent where money wasn’t spoken about in positive ways, I subconsciously inherited poor money management knowledge that turned into poor money management decisions. After years of clumsily handling my finances, I found myself married with a second child on the way and $91,000 in debt. It was that point in my life when I realized something had to change if I wanted to live a life where money and I lived in harmony. I became immersed in the world of personal finance and self-help and realized that if I struggled with these issues, I’m sure other women do too. With focus and determination, we were able to pay off that debt in three years, build emergency savings, and down payment for our home. Through my own journey, I began to informally coach friends and family members before transitioning into a full-fledged business in June 2020. My mission is to help women nurture and provide for themselves, their families, and the community by creating financial security, stability, and prosperity.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
This year has brought out the most unique set of challenges for everyone. The biggest challenge I faced was publicly launching a financial service business in the middle of a pandemic, where so many people are hurting financially. I did not want to seem opportunist in any capacity but being deeply committed to my purpose and mission I successfully launched and have been well received. It has also been difficult juggling motherhood (as I now have three children ages 7, 4, and 1) virtual learning, and entrepreneurship in an exclusively digital environment.

As you know, we’re big fans of The Lotus Legacy. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I truly believe that personal finance is just that–personal and that it takes customized solutions to transform your finances into a sustainable lifestyle of wealth. Our signature service is one-on-one coaching that tailors recommendations to our client’s goals and objectives while building a strong money management foundation (developing spending plans, savings goals, and assistance with financial crisis handling as in debt elimination or credit rebuilding) and a positive money mindset that cultivates a life of tangible and intangible wealth.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
My financial journey happened simultaneously with my physical fitness journey and through those transformations, my brand got its name. A lotus flower is a commonly used symbol in yoga for rebirth and new beginnings. The flower is rooted in murky, muddy water but blossoms beautifully and clean so respectively no matter where you are in your life you may experience a financial rebirth with The Lotus Legacy when you are ready to blossom.
