Inspiring Conversations with Kicki May-Nzeribe of Kicki Cole Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kicki May-Nzeribe.

Kicki, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
A brand isn’t just what people see, it is the delivery on a promise which encourages appreciation, followership, investment and/or patronage. It is a reflection of WHO WE SAY WE ARE, EVIDENT IN EVERYTHING WE DO.

In my career, I have seen businesses fail to plan and by proxy plan to fail. I have also been part of teams that ignore little issues until they become bigger problems that affect bottomline and business functions,

This is why I became a Perception Management Consultant who solves internal problems before they become external issues. I have helped companies put their best foot forward by leading teams in charge of making company goals a reality.

I also double as a Property Value Enhancer because Your Commercial real estate / residential property is an extension of your BRAND!

It secretly tells people about how much you invest in yourself, your comfort and your outward perceptions. It tells people they can trust you to give them detail, quality, class and value!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Ohhhhh definitely not a smooth road.

People are often the greatest hurdle to navigate (not the problem itself).

No one likes external consultants coming in and taking things apart to put them back together in ways that probably require re-learning or getting used to resistance is always expected.

The greatest challenge is convincing Boards and Management to stick with project trajectories and timelines. They are always quick to want to skip growing pains (especially when they are eager for turnarounds and results to happen overnight) it does require quite the amount of communication, negotiation and constant re-iteration on goals, accountability structures and specified timelines.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
With over 18 years combined experience in both private and public sector working in the UK, US, South Africa and Nigeria: Our team of professionals brings to the table experience in Strategic Management, Brand Management, Change Management, Investment Banking, Sustainability, Corporate Communications, Management Consultation, Team Building, Strategic planning & implementation and Company Collaboration.

We have helped companies put their best foot forward by leading teams in charge of making company goals a reality. We do this by ensuring the firm’s strategy is implemented right by translating strategy into manageable pieces of work, prioritizing them and finding the right people to perform the tasks. (While managing costs and building a sustainable brand identity).

We equally enjoy the process (and challenge) of aligning a vision with business objectives on a day-to-day basis. Creating cultures of success that stick.

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
WORK happens anywhere you can get the job done!

Pre-covid, we were so focused on physical presence, having communal spaces where work gets done and all the physical hassle that comes with all that planning, provision and commuting.

Now, the world is open to remote and hybrid working conditions, and for us it’s opened a world of business opportunities to do work and carry out transactions in other parts of the world from the comfort of our own homes.

I can’t speak for others but it has increased my sense of personal responsibility, accountability and time management.
