Today we’d like to introduce you to Kizzy Brewster.
Kizzy, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
God gave me this vision a few years ago. I was praying and still dealing with the pain from my own trauma. I had been raped, molested, a teen mother, an exotic dancer, in a very abusive relationship , homeless, high school drop out , being bullied in school because I was pretty and that led me to have low self-esteem and feeling rejected and abandoned by my family. I felt misunderstood and I wanted to be free.
In the middle of my prayer, that particular night; God said “IPOP”. And I’m like “what?” I began to write down the vision and what it meant. I then asked God “why me?”. God said in a soft voice; “why not you?”. I began to put things in motion because I knew then I needed to be the voice for those who are crippled by this pain and violation. When I had my first event in 2015, I was shocked at how many women held on to pain from years ago of being violated and wounded. We cried we laughed, we prayed and we knew at that moment IPOP was def serving a need for a great purpose. I’ve been able to heal from within and gain such great confidence and strength as I push IPOP to the next level. We are not victims. We have total victory and we will no longer allow pain to push us into silence! IPOP INC’s goal is to reach nations and make a worldwide impact of healing and restoration!
Has it been a smooth road?
Well, it hasn’t been easy at all. But, anything worth having is worth fighting for. Majority of my struggles in launching was becoming a one-woman show and having to figure it out on my own. I had people that wanted to charge me
To help me get started and I told myself; “God have you an amazing purpose so dig deep and just do it.” Some people thought I was crazy for sharing my testimony with the world. But, I wholeheartedly believe that we overcome by the word of our testimony and I had to be obedient no matter what other people thought. My advice would be to keep God first and always believe in the power of YOU! Do it afraid, do it when you’re unsure but, most of all; just do it! If you do the possible, God will do the impossible.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am a servant at heart. How can one lead without first being a servant? I pride myself on loving others because love heals. Sometimes that’s all people need is genuine love and to know someone really cares. IPOP helps heal. We are a no judgement zone and we are on a mission and we will not be denied. For with God all things are possible. I believe what sets me apart is the simple fact that the power to persevere and press through against all odds gives IPOP a divine advantage and uncommon favor. We don’t do anything without first honoring God and then we help the people in the community feel and see what love really is.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts or other resources that you’ve benefited from using?
Yes. I love listening to and reading books by Sarah Jakes Roberts because she has experienced some of the same things as what IPOP stands for. I also listen to TD Jakes empowerment sessions on YouTube because I think we all need to be empowered on a daily basis. When you pour out so much; who’s replenishing you? And of course Joyce Myers self-help books and the Bible. I do believe in balance so, with that being said; it is also good to unwind from time to time and go to a museum or The aquarium just to release as well as meditate to lock into who you really are, to really hear God without always asking or telling God what you need, want and desire. I learned that from David Banner. I went to a seminar where he spoke and he dropped so many gems that it changed a lot of what I used to think and I began to manifest the life God has for me.
