Meet Chanara Herbert of Flourish Luxé Cosmetics in Stone Mountain

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chanara Herbert.

Chanara, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Before I moved to Atlanta from New York, my best friend would buy me makeup, knowing I didn’t wear it or even knew where to apply what I was just a lash girl as I played with the makeup and began to take it seriously and signed up for cosmetology school. I immediately fell in love with makeup more than any other subject. I practiced makeup on myself and others and became a certified lash tech in August 2018. About three years ago, a vision came to me to sell lashes, so I did and never looked back. In September 2018, Flourish Luxé was established. I began to sell my lashes to my classmates in cosmetology school and really push my makeup artistry. Fast forward to 2020. This year has been a blessing to me; I would not have been able to make it through without God himself. It was not easy getting where I am now and I’m not finished yet; I’m actually just getting started.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
For me, it has not been a smooth road but somehow, I have managed to make it through. As an entrepreneur, some of the struggles that I have had along the way is trying to juggle being away from my children at times, being a business owner and maintaining consistent content online. Times were hard but I’m thankful for everyone in my corner supporting me along the way, making Flourish Luxé Cosmetics a brand. Building this brand from the ground up, I struggled to find packing, testing products and having to trust people, but I took a leap of faith and I am thankful I did.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Flourish Luxé Cosmetics – what should we know?
Flourish Luxé is a cosmetic brand, we provide luxury faux mink lashes, handmade lipgloss, accessories and more. I specialize in makeup (soft glam, natural, dramatic). I hand make each lip gloss and I also make my own graphics for the company. I am known for my bold, colorful makeup looks and my bold lashes to match. Flourish, Luxé offers many items but they are known for their lash collections. Our lashes range from 16mm-25mm with many styles to choose from. As a company, we are proud of the growth that we have gained over the years. We are thankful for the love and support and supporters because because it was all apart of the growing process as we still continue to grow. What sets us apart from others is our authenticity and our quality. We strive to give each client/customer an experience that makes them feel luxurious and as always, we encourage our Luxébabes to “Flourish your inner beauty”.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
I haven’t had any mentors but my support system is heavy and I do mean heavy on the support. During the long nights of putting orders together, testing products and helping me manage the kid’s as well as delivering orders the father of my children, I couldn’t have asked for a better life partner. Thank you for supporting me in all my dreams all the repost and shares it doesn’t go unnoticed. My older sister has a huge influence on me and my business as well she’s my number 1 cheerleader and has supported me since day one and without her lectures, tough love and encouragement, Idk where myself or my business would be. My friends have been a major impact on my company they are amazing brand advocates and ambassadors. They have helped me name products, help me stay awake and still continue to tell me to be great while dealing with their livelihoods, so I am extremely grateful for my friends.
