Meet Christy Deen of Drip-Thru Coffee™ in Stockbridge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christy Deen.

Drip Thru’s history begins in 2013. Looking at the commuter culture of Atlanta and taking inspiration from the prolific coffee stands of the Pacific Northwest, an idea was born. It grew from a love of coffee and a desire to bring a quick, high quality coffee drive-thru to the Atlanta area. After lots of effort refining the concept and readying it to come to life, Drip Thru was born.

Drip Thru is the fruition of co-founder Christy Deen’s vision. Christy has worked for over 20 years in the food and beverage industry. She’s managed restaurants from Walt Disney World to the Atlanta Airport. A native of the Atlanta Metro area, Christy wants to bring good fast coffee to Atlanta commuters.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It took a diligent 2 years for this dream to become a reality. There were plenty of “hurry up and wait” scenarios from securing a lease, SBA lending, construction, municipalities and so on. It was definitely a learning curve. However, we are more knowledgeable having gone through it. Still feels pretty surreal to be open and operating!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Drip-Thru Coffee™ story. Tell us more about the business.
Customer service is core to the way we do business. Customers are the lifeblood of any company and we believe treating customer’s right is a priority.

We believe gourmet coffee can be served fast, while not compromising quality or service. A small business local to the Atlanta Metro area, we are part of the community and invested in the local economy. We make every effort to use suppliers and vendors that are also local to Georgia. Our desire is to benefit our customers, employees, and partners here in our community. Our coffee comes from a Georgia roaster, who roast it to order and delivers it to Drip Thru every week, the day after it is roasted. Our roaster buys coffee via fair trade practices making sure the farmers that grow the coffee receive a fair price for their product. The coffee we purchase was organically grown. Decaffeinated coffee we serve was decaffeinated via the Swiss process with only pure water.

You can be sure our coffee is of the highest quality and everyone involved in preparing it from grower to roaster to barista is dedicated to producing a fine product.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I’m personally lucky to have married the man who believed in me and my dream from the get go! He’s been the behind the scenes guy that kept things moving logistically and financially even in my darkest hour. He’s a keeper!

Relationships and networking are everything to me. I try my best to leave a positive mark wherever life or jobs have taken me. I have now come full circle and placed my business in the town I held my first job – Stockbridge, GA. It’s great to be back and visit with friends and family on the daily now!
