Meet Joe Bleakley of Four Seasons Pet Resort

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joe Bleakley.

Joe, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Four Seasons Pet Resort has been a family affair since day one. Growing up, I can always remember helping out my parents at our boarding kennel… everything from cleaning cages and feeding dogs to spa treatments and training sessions. I loved working with the animals, it’s quite hard to have a bad day when you are surrounded by such affectionate creatures.

Once I graduated college, I worked out of Nashville as an audio engineer, My job was great and I loved Nashville, but I always kept thinking of home back in Athens. After a short touring career with the likes of Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts, I quit the road and came back to Athens. In 2015, I bought the family business and have not looked back since! I greatly enjoy my clients and the unconditional love they provide!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It was quite the career change going from stage managing and mixing to a small business owner but I found that the entertainment industry taught me a lot about personal care and attention for each of your clients. I wanted to provide the best show possible each and every time my artist stepped out on stage and I feel the same way 10years later about my canine clients! I want each animal at Four Seasons Pet Resort to have the best time possible. Nashville taught me “You are only as good as your last show”, so now its “You are only as good as your Four Seasons experience”!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Four Seasons Pet Resort – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are a family owned and operated boutique pet resort in Athens, Ga. Since 1995 we have been providing quality pet care in the Athens area. We specialize in high-quality pet boarding with resort amenities such as obedience training, spa treatments, and swim therapies. I believe we are known for our personal touch that we provide for our clients.

Four Seasons Pet Resort is the only indoor/outdoor climate controlled kennel in the Athens area, each pet has their own private run that lets them go outside or hang out inside and enjoy the air conditioning at their leisure. I believe what sets us apart is our relationships we have with our clients… we try to provide the same level of care as if your pet was in your personal home. This year, we had the honor to be voted Best Kennel of Athens by the Athens Banner Herald’s Reader’s Choice Awards.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Four Seasons Pet Resort is growing every year. We are currently looking to expand our Daycare Program to cater to local apartment complexes in town. We would provide a shuttle service, exclusively for a particular housing facility, to pick up clients dogs in the morning, entertain them throughout the day, and return them back to the apartment complex at night.
