Meet LaToya Rebecca of Edna’s Boutique & Beauty Bar in Covington

Today we’d like to introduce you to LaToya Rebecca.

Thanks for sharing your story with us LaToya. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m the CEO of Edna’s Boutique & Beauty Bar and Founder of Edna’s Lash & Brow Academy. As the passionate owner of thriving Lash Training Academy and Lash Extension businesses, I am certainly qualified to assist you in your quest to become a world-class Lash Stylist. I’ve been in your shoes before and I can help fast track your career (whilst avoiding about million mistakes along the way!) Like many Lash Artist, my lashing career began as a Part-time Makeup Artist in Conyers, GA. After many years of hard work, I’m proud to be able to share my lash technique with new inspiring lash artist. I have trained over 60 highly skilled lashes who share my same passion for the industry. Having contributed to the industry now, I am fortunate to have been given complimentary titles such as Master Lash artist, Lash Tech educator and more.. but my greatest pride comes from assisting others to achieve their full capabilities as professional Lash Stylists. I’d say my “superpower” is getting amazing results out of others which has led me to facilitate 50+ training workshops, teaching over a 100 students and creating countless successful Lash Stylists along the way. Now, it’s your turn.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
My biggest struggle the 1st six months of being in business was figuring out how to get visibility for my business. I remember being in retail for 14 years on major intersections we passed out flyers and business cards that day had come and gone. We live in a digital world now where we have google and social media. I took some classes on visibility and social media marketing and my business literally changed overnight. I now teach lash students how to use these same tools to build their businesses. When you have good visibility, it’s no such thing as a bad location.

We’d love to hear more about your business.

What were you like growing up?
I’m the 2nd child of six kids, so I learned how to be a leader early in life with helping with my younger siblings. I remember at the age of 15 I knew I wanted to own my own business I just didn’t know what industry it would be in.
