Meet Marcenae Lynette

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcenae Lynette.

Hi Marcenae, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I am an actress, writer, and aspiring director here in Atlanta. The CEO of Exactposure, LLC, and proud Mommy to an amazing little lady! I am that I am!

My journey has been amazing. It all started when I was in elementary school, but if you ask my Mom, I started in my crib! She said, I was the happiest baby, and she would always find me singing a song, or playing a character in the mirror during my early childhood. My late father started teaching me from a director’s POV. Every Friday, he would go to Blockbuster, pick three movies (comedy, action, and drama). He loved Jean Claude van, Damme. He would purchase two boxes of Whoppers candy and a six-pack of Pepsi and we would spend all weekend watching movies. It was a tradition every Friday night and he continued until he passed away.

In 4th grade, I wrote my first commercial jingle as a class project, and I knew being in the industry was ALL I wanted to do! So, I went for it. I was in every play, every band, every chorus, oratorical contest, and I joined every club that would have me. French club, Beta Club, Home-Economics, Drama Club, the Principals Club, and the In-School Suspension Club. In other words, just because I was gifted didn’t mean I didn’t face disciplinary corrections. I had an amazing time learning about myself, my gifts, and my talents. During the span of 2000-2005, I traveled, partied, lost some important family members, acted out, saved almost 15K to aid in my move to California to pursue my acting career, made a right turn, then conceived a little human, that changed my life forever.

When I moved back to Atlanta in 2006, I came home to prepare for my new journey!

Having her helped me understand my path. I experienced life to the fullest after giving birth to my daughter. The joy of being her mother aided in my decision to go after my passion Godspeed. Doubt kicked in, I thought after having a baby, I couldn’t pursue my passion because I needed to be a Mother. Plus, I didn’t want to be gone from her too long, so I asked God to provide a lifestyle for us that we could do together, and he answered! I wanted to wait until she started school before I hopped into action. I studied, I went to school for a backup plan, put the plan together, and secured my first talent agent in 2011. I booked my first major TV role less than two months of being with my agency. Throughout my career, I continued to network and audition, take classes, write, and create content. Now to date, despite the pandemic, I have worked alongside some amazing people! There’s no such thing as big or small roles, they are all steps towards the vision that I have for my family’s life. I have had the honor to teach, train, and tape my colleagues and watch the roles they have booked from my coaching on TV and the big screen. No need to “name drop” just know that My father, above and on the inside of me, has been my provider, agent, producer, manager, and coach. God has been giving me the desires of my heart, and I have been able to be a blessing to others while on this journey. I live in gratitude and I expect BIG in return, He knows it!  I am currently signed with Aligned Stars Agency here in Atlanta, and I absolutely love them!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A smooth road? HA, it has been a lot of everything. The roughest parts of my life have brought me the most gratitude and joy. Truthfully, I experienced the biggest hurt to date: my father’s transition in 2018. I thought I would quit acting but being creative is what kept me strong. I have learned so much about myself during those “rough moments”, and I also learned a lot about My Father in Heaven. Truth, I have an amazing support system! I am #4 of 8 siblings and I have amazing friends! And might I add, I am the Favorite Child. They would argue that sentiment but since this is my interview, I can definitely be biased. My sisters are my best friends, my brothers are the most important men in my life, my mother is so strong and beautiful and one of the best women I know. She is killing the game, and I honor her with everything I am. When I have my darkest moments, I think about how she did it with eight children, and I wipe my tears and pick up a pen. She is a PHENOMENAL WOMAN! I have a niece, a nephew, a grandniece and a grandnephew. Truthfully, they are my happy spots, along with my beautiful daughter!

Through all the hard times, we have always prayed and stayed together, no matter what.

Let’s get back to my Father! He fell off a ladder one day in May 2018, hit his head, went into a coma, and never came back to us naturally. He passed in August of 2018. That was the hardest moment of my life. I was broken. The following months going into 2019 was hard for me, because I didn’t DEAL or accept grief. His transition forced me to really stop and seek God for myself on another level. While doing the soul work, I found myself in so many questionable situations, yet I maintained a smile on my face and joy in my heart. Most people had no idea that I was crying myself to sleep, amongst other things, let’s keep it real! I thought I had seen the worst parts of myself then 2020 hit, BOOM, a pandemic! It seemed everything was falling apart and I considered myself “lost”. During all of this, to help me cope, I would find empty parking lots, put on my roller skates, and just “skate and cry”. Skating became my therapy. I kept it to myself for a while, until a close friend of mine at the time suggested that I post my skating video on IG.

From there I created a YouTube channel, “Flyy Skater Girl” and I started helping others across the world through roller skating. When people would come to me for lessons, I would use that time to talk to them through some of life’s hard times, explain God’s love, and by the time we were done skating, we would all be laughing and having a great time. There were plenty of tears, laughs, and falls, but that is my ministry. I may not be in a pulpit, but in my own beautiful way, God allowed me to minister to people through my skates! So, my creativity and joy found a new outlet, and I am grateful for that. I don’t know how many people will actually read this entire article, but the right hearts will see this, connect, and be inspired. So, I’m going to keep it 100%, I needed to find out who I was, and I was able to reset during the pandemic. I have always been and always will be a woman on fire!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a working actress here in Atlanta. I emcee, host events, sing, write, coach, and direct. Just to name a few networks, I have been seen on NBC, Tv One, OWN, and I have been a part of multiple plays around Atlanta. What sets me apart is my belief! I believe in my craft and I believe in The Creator wholeheartedly. This FAITH over FEAR process is a life saver. In 2019 I was blessed to create alongside some Emmy winners and amazing talent for a feature film set to release in 2021. Due to our NDA, I cannot release the name of the project. Just know, you’ll see me on the Silver Screen!

I am also a skater and I offer skate lessons. Of course, keeping Covid in mind, we are safe, socially distant, and wearing our masks, even doing them virtually for some clients. I am proud of my skater crew, “Flyy Skater Crew” who partnered with Take A Leap Foundation, The Jessie Rose Project, Cazcade Films, Christian Girls Who Brunch, Melody Joy Intl, IBDASTIKUP, Taylor Made Property Management, Aiming High, and Cutting Edge Institute and we fed over 150 families this Thanksgiving, for our First Annual “SkatesGiving” Community Initiative. We provided groceries, clothing, and early Christmas Gifts for kids 13 and under and their families. To see those families, receive God’s blessings with love and joy in their hearts is what God is asking us to do. It’s all for His Glory!

I just want to continue to be one of His willing vessels. I am most proud of my daughter. She is extremely creative. She is exploring her passion in singing and acting. Ironically, she didn’t want to be in front of the camera for a while, but I enrolled her into an art-themed school where she attended until 7th grade. So grateful that I did because I watched her blossom into the young creative, she is today. When I heard her sing for the first time, I cried like a big baby. Her voice is so angelic. She is also an amazing creative writer. I often go back and read her stories when I’m feeling blocked or uninspired. I’m so proud that she is choosing to explore for herself. When I am brainstorming, she has amazing ideas and her love for music exposes me to songs I wouldn’t even think to listen to, and it opens me up creatively in a way I can’t explain in words.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
I love collaborations and DONATIONS! I absolutely love them. I am currently working on a couple of projects that I would love collaborations on. Social Events, Film/Tv scriptwriting, and music. I am expanding and diversifying my vision of contributing to the world this year, and I would really love to connect with some dope organizations, creatives, and business owners this year. I just want to serve the world and give God my very best, and that requires a team! So, let’s connect and create!
