Meet Serra Deville of Georgia’s Dream Nannies

Today we’d like to introduce you to Serra Deville.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I never dreamed 14-years ago I would be working in one of the largest, most prestigious and award-winning household staffing companies in Georgia. I’m not bragging about it either. I’m blown away by the progress our company has made over the past 14-years and the contributions that each and every employee has made over the years to help the company succeed.

I never dreamed of owning my company. All I ever wanted to be in life was a wife, mother and school teacher, but the Lord had different plans for my life. I came up with the idea of opening a household staffing agency in 2003 on a Saturday morning after contemplating many other business ideas that just didn’t seem like a fit; However, Georgia’s Dream Nannies seemed different. I had a full-time teaching job, but I knew that I was called to do more than teaching, so I started planning and putting together my business idea. In fact, I had my very first client within 2-weeks of opening the business.

I worked 60-70 hours for the first 7 years because I was on a mission to create the best experience for each and every person who contacted the agency. I never saw my work on a daily basis as a job, but as a calling. I met a lot of fascinating people who would share their personal stories both good and bad with me. I ended up being a listening ear and friend to so many during those early years.

I made sure that everyone who contacted the agency knew I cared about them. In fact, I remember interviewing nannies at 8:00 pm, 9:00 pm and even 10:00 pm just to make sure I could accommodate their schedule and the family’s needs to find someone quickly. I would work 6-days a week and love every single minute of it. I had the most wonderful staff during those earlier years (Melissa and Allison) who worked so hard to make sure that every little detail was just perfect. They truly did help grow the business early on. They both moved out-of-state and have their own families now, but I will never forget how hard they worked right alongside of me. We laughed a lot during those early years.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not always easy.

Now, don’t get me wrong – there were many days I wanted to give up, but something inside of me wouldn’t let me throw in the towel. I had a drive in me that kept pushing forward even through the exhaustion. I had a husband who believed in me and helped me. He believed in my dream and he saw my vision becoming something bigger. Oh, he was my biggest fan cheering me on. I also learned a lot about balance and family life and how to do it all. Yes, I do it all now, but it’s not perfect. Nope, not even close. It’s actually quite messy and it’s okay. I don’t work 6-days a week and 70+ hours anymore because I’ve learned that life is not always about working long and crazy hours even when you have a passion and calling for something great.

Please tell us about Georgia’s Dream Nannies.
Since 2003, we have been the top-notch nanny agency in Atlanta; However, we expanded our household staffing services to offer a wide range of domestic staff (nannies, housekeepers, handyman, personal assistants, household managers, etc.) to the finest families in and around Atlanta.

The first thing you’ll notice when you begin your search is that there is a VERY crowded marketplace in the Household Staffing Industry. The Internet is crowded with literally thousands of pages of information pertaining to “Nannying,” and some of it is downright confusing, not to mention the fact that it takes way too much time to sift through it all. That’s where Georgia’s Dream Nannies steps in to help! Not only do we place only the very best Nannies in Georgia, we also place the best Personal Housekeepers as well as Household Managers and other staff for the home.

We at Georgia’s Dream Nannies have a proud, long-standing industry reputation that we take seriously. We know exactly what we’re doing. When we’re working on the assignment, we can source candidates more efficiently than others because we have deep knowledge of this industry, all appropriate language and job functions, and all the wonderfully helpful roles within your family that a nanny or other household employee can fill.

Our in-home home staffing solutions help the average family as well as celebrities find the most experienced and polished household help…

There are two scenarios. Picture this: You’re practically breaking your fingernails on a keyboard and straining your eyes for hours on end, researching outdated websites with unverified and even potentially misleading Nanny and other domestic (household staff) profiles. Or picture this: You call us and speak to a friendly Client Coordinator who tells you exactly what you need to know and then sends you only few hand-picked, top-notch Nannies or other household staff to interview.

We are most proud of our award-winning agency. TOP-RATED COMPANY 4-YEARS IN A ROW!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Playing with my friends and pretending to be a leader of a company and having my friends sign contracts in order to be in my club.
