Meet Sylvia Strauss and Katie Lilley of FIT4MOM in Roswell and Alpharetta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sylvia Strauss and Katie Lilley.

Sylvia and Katie joined FIT4MOM Roswell as members when it first opened 3 years ago. Katie had given birth to her 2nd child and Sylvia brought along her 9-month old son. The program was just starting up but we loved the ideas of working out with our children & building mom friendships. After attending classes for a year, Katie & Sylvia both decided to get their Stroller Strides instructor certifications. Katie also purchased the franchise from our initial founder and expanded her certifications to include Stroller Barre & Body Back.

This March, Sylvia purchased FIT4MOM Roswell Alpharetta with plans to further expand our class offerings to moms in Sandy Springs/Dunwoody.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In an industry with children, we have become more adaptable! We believe this is one reason why moms love to join our program. We completely understand if you are running late or if your child needs to feed during class. This is what makes our FIT4MOM Village unique, we are all moms so we are flexible & understanding.

Please tell us about FIT4MOM Roswell Alpharetta.
FIT4MOM is the largest post-natal stroller workout in America. We believe in strengthening moms for motherhood, both physically and emotionally. We provide workouts for moms in all stages and we specialize in providing exercises for a woman’s body post childbirth. FIT4MOM offers 3 special classes which all meet outside (weather permitting): A FIT4MOM Stroller Strides class incorporates both aerobic and strength building exercises in a circuit workout program. Stroller Barre class utilizes the most perfect bar – a stroller bar- for our Pilates, ballet and yoga infusion program. With our Body Back program, we offer a high intensity interval class with meal planning.

The most valued part of FIT4MOM Roswell Alpharetta is our FIT4MOM Village. We provide a place for moms to gather and build life-long friendships! Each month we have weekly fieldtrips, music classes, birthday celebrations, crafts, Mom Night Outs and Family events. We pride ourselves on being a place where moms can come “as they are” in a judgement free zone. Nothing bonds us greater than the bond of motherhood!

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Even though Katie & Sylvia grew up in different states, our favorite memories of childhood are the same. We loved the memories of those moments we spent outside with our families. Whether it was a hike at the neighborhood park, camping outdoors, or swimming at the neighborhood pool.
