Exploring Life & Business with Lillie Aviles of Salut Beauté Beauty Bar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lillie Aviles.

Hi Lillie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I am 26, from San Diego CA. I moved to ATL then Savannah. Here in Savannah, I worked as an assistant manager for six years at a hair store. While there three years in I decided to become a certified lash technician in lash extensions. That wasn’t enough I was still hungry for more. I started a lash and lipstick line. But something was still missing. I then went to esthetician school while in a pandemic. I got my license in esthetic. Now I make six figures working for myself. I have a beautiful storefront. I wholesale my lashes to four stores in GA. I sell extension supplies for other technicians. I have a skincare line that is bomb. lol I just want other entrepreneurs to know that if I came to form Cali with no family in Savannah and have what I have you can do it too. You have to be determined. Esthetician school was a lot. I was working two jobs, the hair store plus my own business. The school was in South Carolina. It was a 4 hours day some days, plus I had a child and had to make sure he was good. But everything was worth it. I’m so grateful I work for myself and can pay myself after three years of having this business.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, lol I got marriage then pregnant and that slow things down. Then trying to get divorced, and school and having a child with no help from the husband was a lot. I stay hungry and determine that I was going to make sure I had things taken care of for my child and myself. I was going to school where the drive was two hours in the morning had to be there at 8 am to driving another two hours home for four months. Then on weekend work twelve hours, I had my days where driving I would just scream because I was tired lol. But I kept it pushing know that my end goal was to be able to leave the hair store and have my own store.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Our vision at Salut Beauté Beauty Bar is that all clients and customers leave embracing the new glow to them. To provide great products and services to each person. To leave with a better attitude. I am a supplier for lash extensions, skincare, wholesales for strip lashes, cosmetics supplier. I also am a licensed esthetician. I love skincare its truly my passion. I am mostly know for being a lash technician. I also do makeup and skincare but lashes are my money maker. What sets me aside from others, I’m always helping the next artist or entrepreneur. I want us to all win I don’t see competition. I am a walk-in-friendly place but appointments are preferred. That is will all my services. I teach everyone I encounter with the same. I’m very positive. I am most proud of my strip lash line. I am in four different stores in GA and I am very proud of that. I offer facials, lash classes, also starting in July, I will be doing business exposure. I really want to help and teach the next so that we all can grow. My products are available through my website. If ever in Savannah can be a walk-in or book an appointment.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Yes, this taught me that you should really value people. The littles things or knowledge someone tells you could help you. To save on a regular. I was good but there were some who fell short and I learned in my early 20’s don’t live paycheck to paycheck but this really was an eye-opener. I am 26 and can say that I had two months rent saved and was on until I could return back to work.
