Today we’d like to introduce you to David Cone.
Hi David, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew in Statesboro, Georgia, with a proclivity for playing football. Upon graduating high school, I was honored to attend the University of Michigan on a football scholarship to play quarterback. While there, I began learning about the technical aspects and theoretical history of filmmaking and video production. Once my tenure at Michigan was complete, I moved to Atlanta and found work immediately in the video space. Since then, I have started my own media production company, Cone Films, and I’ve produced and directed content for some of the most storied brands in the world. I am grateful for every opportunity and assignment I have been tasked with, and I like to think my journey is really just beginning. I now live in Roswell with my wife, Darbi Lou, and we are expecting our first baby boy later this summer.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In my experience, rarely does the amount of work a business has sync perfectly with the amount of time they have to complete it. Either there is too little work, and business is slow, or it is too much and you run into the classic problem of when and how to scale. Fortunately for my company, we’re currently dealing more with the latter problem, but North Georgia has proven to be a great geographical region to acquire not only new clients, but also a wonderful area to source the workers we need to help us meet the demands of those clients.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Cone Films is a multimedia video production company. From branded content to national ads to social media marketing, we aim to tell the most visually powerful stories in the world and help our clients build brands they are proud to promote.
How do you think about happiness?
In my experience, happiness is created when we take on life’s responsibilities. In the last four years, I’ve started my own business and my own family. While these new responsibilities haven’t been easy, they have made me happy.
