Daily Inspiration: Meet Alexis Carr

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Carr.

Hi Alexis, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story is actually very surprising to some. When I was younger I was very outgoing but I never really liked to be in front of the cameras like I always am today. I was often insecure about myself and I would hide my true talents from the people around me. I always thought I would be somewhere playing a professional sport like volleyball or basketball. But when I graduated from high school God took me on a different path. I went to the university of Cincinnati and never looked back. Taking the leap of faith and moving to a new state with new people gave me the opportunity to reinvent myself into the person I actually wanted to be. It was one of the best experiences of my life and it gave me an opportunity to learn who I was for myself and not how others perceive me to be. Throughout college I created a name for myself and started to build the base I was looking for to get me to the place I am today. I am so grateful that I took a chance on myself because now I have a platform that inspires other entrepreneurs and young black girls who may not act or stand out from others around them an opportunity to go for them to go for what they want and we’re still growing. My story is still being told and I’m still learning more and more everyday but I can proudly say that I am becoming the woman that Little Alexis has always dreamed of.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Throughout my journey, I’ve faced my share of mental battles with depression and anxiety that have, at times, set me back and made me question myself. But those experiences have also made me stronger, more resilient, and more intentional about the way I move through life. They’ve taught me that setbacks don’t define you they’re simply just a part of the journey. Every challenge I’ve overcome has shaped me into the person I am today and reminds me to keep pushing forward, even when the path isn’t easy

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and a minor in History. Working with young people, especially young adults, has always been a passion of mine. Before graduating, I had the opportunity to teach African American History, Ethnic Studies, and Government to 11th and 12th grade students, an experience that strengthened my love for education and mentorship.

Since earning my degree, I’ve shifted my focus toward entrepreneurship. While I was in college, I founded a clothing brand called Unprovoked. After taking time to reflect on my creative vision, I decided to pivot and launch my bag brand, Karbon Footprint. Building this brand has allowed me to combine my passion for fashion, creativity, and storytelling into something meaningful.

Outside of running my business, I’m also a content creator, fashion influencer, model, and stylist. Depending on the platform, many people know me as LBands, lextoocool, or ssiixxeella. I enjoy creating content that inspires confidence, showcases personal style, and encourages people to embrace their individuality.

One of my proudest accomplishments is graduating from college and the impact I’ve made on the next generation through education. But I’m excited to see how far Karbon Footprint can grow and the impact it can make.

What sets me apart is my belief that people shouldn’t limit themselves to one path. I’ve always believed in putting my foot through every door that’s meant for me. Whether I’m teaching in a classroom, building a business, creating content, or styling a photoshoot, I bring the same level of passion, authenticity, and dedication. My ability to genuinely connect with people from all walks of life is one of my greatest strengths, and I’m never afraid to be myself. I believe there’s power in individuality, and I’m proud to stand out even if it means standing alone.

How do you think about luck?
I don’t think luck has ever truly been a factor in my journey in life or in my business. Everything I do is God given I put my faith within him and watch the Lord create pathways and opportunities for me to show my creativity and skills.
