Exploring Life & Business with Chanel Murphy of Chanel Patrice

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chanel Murphy.

Hi Chanel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began in 2017 when I founded My Fabulous Food, a gourmet food and gifting company inspired by my love of beautiful presentation, bold flavor, and creating memorable experiences around the table. What began as a personal passion grew into a nationally recognized brand, with products carried by retailers including Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s, and Bergdorf Goodman. The brand was also selected for Oprah’s Favorite Things twice and featured by outlets such as Good Morning America, The View, Food Network, Food & Wine, Essence, and Black Enterprise.

Despite that success, my path has not been linear. During a difficult period of personal transition, I stepped away from My Fabulous Food and relocated from South Florida to the Carolinas. I had to rebuild many parts of my life, but that season also gave me the space to reflect on the woman and entrepreneur I had become. I realized I did not want to simply recreate my former business. I wanted to build something more personal, elevated, and expansive.

That vision became Chanel Patrice, a luxury culinary and lifestyle brand rooted in the art of dining, gifting, and intentional living. Through beautifully designed finishing sea salts, dessert teas, sculptural tableware, and bespoke gifts, Chanel Patrice transforms everyday rituals into experiences that feel thoughtful and extraordinary.

Today, I am combining everything I learned from building my first company with a clearer sense of identity, stronger creative direction, and the confidence to build on my own terms.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has definitely not been a smooth road. When I first started, I did not have a team or significant outside capital, so I had to learn nearly every aspect of building a business as I went. From product development, sourcing, packaging, and fulfillment to marketing, wholesale, customer service, and public relations, I wore every hat. Many decisions were made through research, instinct, trial and error, and a willingness to keep adjusting.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Chanel Patrice is a luxury culinary and lifestyle brand centered on elevated dining, intentional gifting, and beautiful everyday rituals. We create thoughtfully designed pantry essentials and objects for the home, including finishing sea salts, dessert teas, sculptural tableware, and curated gifts for individuals, corporations, hospitality partners, real estate professionals, and special events.

We specialize in transforming familiar culinary products into experiences that feel refined, distinctive, and gift-worthy. From the flavor and sourcing to the packaging and presentation, every detail is considered. Our finishing salts, for example, are designed not only to enhance a dish but also to become a beautiful object displayed in the kitchen. That intersection of flavor, design, and storytelling is what sets Chanel Patrice apart.

The brand is also informed by my background as a food writer, recipe developer, content strategist, and the founder of My Fabulous Food. I understand how to create a strong product, but I also understand how to build an emotional world around it. Chanel Patrice is not simply selling pantry items; we are creating a feeling.

Brand-wise, I am most proud of the legacy behind this new chapter. My previous brand, My Fabulous Food, was selected for Oprah’s Favorite Things twice and reached customers through some of the country’s most respected retailers and media outlets. With Chanel Patrice, I have been able to carry that experience forward while developing a brand that feels even more personal, sophisticated, and aligned with my creative vision.
